This is a really nice hotel, hidden away off a major road in a side-street in the centre of Rome. Although on arrival you may wonder if you have made a mistake (the side-street is narrow), the location is perfect. You are not disturbed by any noise and yet you are still in the centre of Rome, within walking distance...

Have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hosianum. We chose this hotel after reading favourable reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disapointed. The hotel is VERY well situated in Rome and is within walking distance to most sites. The Pantheon and the 'Typewriter' are extreemly close by. The hotel is tastefully decorated throughout, very clean and...

Just returned from a trip around Italy where Rome was our first stop. Having been to Rome before I knew that the location of this hotel was ideal (everything was within walking distance). The hotel matched its location. Typical continental hotel where the rooms are smaller than in UK and Ireland but the rooms in this hotel were of a...

The Hosianum Palace was wonderful! Our room was a little small, but by Italy standards it was huge! The hotel has been completely renovated recently and was pristinely clean! The rooftop terrace was BEAUTIFUL!!! The pictures on the hotel's website depict the terrace quite well. Breakfast was never too busy and the staff was always extremely helpful. The location is...

Stayed at this hotel from May 30 to June 3,2006. The best thing about this hotel is that it is clean and centrally located. There are better values to be had in this very expensive city. We stayed in room 101. It has to be the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in,in any country in either Europe or the...

Perfect location only 100 yards from Piazza Venezia but no noise intruded into bedrooms. Smart, if compact, rooms with relaxing roof bar available at night and excellent breakfast. Not easiest hotel to find (taxi driver struggled!) but aim for Via Delle Botteghe Oscure and its towards the Piazza Venezia end of that street. If not available on usual sites access...

My husband and I chose this hotel because of the central location. I am so glad that we did -- the room and bathroom were very clean (small, but larger than I had anticipated) and the staff was pleasant. I am not usually a breakfast person but enjoyed the casual atmosphere in the dining area. It is is slightly difficult...

We have just returned from a 3 night stay and can thoroughly recommend this hotel. The location is excellent for all the main sites, although about a 10-15minute walk to the Colosseum metro. We only used the metro to get to the Vatican and walked back as Rome is a surprisingly compact city. The breakfast roof garden opened today and...

So having arrived ar Rome at another hotel...

Nicely appointed hotel conveniently located to all major sites. I've read a lot about the rooms being small, but they are very typical by European standards. Sure, the shower stall was a bit cramped, but the water was hot and strong! Quiet and impeccably clean with good air conditioning. Staff was friendly but not effusive. Rooftop bar was expensive, but...

Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighbourhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighbourhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
