I had two reservation - one single room and a double room. When we arrived they said that they have a had only a double room. And they install us in Patria hotel - also three stars but dirty, old and with very little place for shower - terrible, absolutely uncomfortable!

It is a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. All attractions are within 5-15 mins walk so very convenient if you are in Rome only for a few days and would like to pop in and out of the hotel between the attractions to freshen up.

Hotel is perfect to stay near the city center, very close to Rome termini center also many attractions were just 10-15 mins walk away. Perfect street for shopping where hotel is located, staff was very friendly and cooperative. Breakfast was a bit dated with not too many varieties other than that fully recommended to stay there.

Pictures don't always tell the story. This hotel was recommended and the pictures looked lovely. In fact, the entrance is highly unappealing, the rooms need updating, and the breakfast room is small and unattractive. There are better three star hotels in the area. Choose carefully.

Dear Christine H, we are truly sorry about your disappointment. To be honest, we know that the entrance of the building does not contribute to give a positive image, but unfortunately ours is an ancient building in the centre, and it's very difficult for us to change the appearance, walls, etc. Plus, as you might have noticed, the entrance is...

The vintage style is perfect with the Rome's old style, we were surprised of how close we were to all the important attractions: 15 minutes by foot from the Colosseo, Forum, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon... metro and buss station in front of the hotel to get easily to Vatican or other areas of the city. Perfect location, nice breakefast and...

We stayed here for a week and it was amazing! We got there really early and we had to wait for our room to be ready so we went for a walk nearby the hotel. The hotel is situated in a really good area, and we mostly walked to the main points of interest (even though summer in Rome is...

We stayed here a week ago and I can't really fault the service, the receptionist and manager were both extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was nothing to rave about but it does help to fill a gap (there are plenty of shops/cafes to get a proper breakfast!) The hotel is a perfect location from the train station and to the...

good location, nice staff, clean room and bath, small bed, working air condition, worth the money we've paid, walking distance from main attractions, bus stop in front of the hotel's door, 50 m away there is a supermarket - normal price, numerous shops next to the hotel including Guess, Max Mar etc.,

The hotel staff ware nice and very helpful. We wanted a quiet room, and they gave us a villa instead without extr charge. The villa was on the 3rd. floor, but we did not mind the extra walk up the stairs. Close to the train station and many attractions. Price is right.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
