Room small & very basic. Breakfast is basic - no ambience & no real choice (coffee was good). Communication issues - owners only speak Italian so no chance of getting any helpful info.I could not recommend this hotel - very disappointing. I would barely give this hotel 1 star!!!

It was a 5 day stay and everything was very good. I was met by an English-speaking receptionist, I was given a map and some suggestions according to what would be interesting to visit first. Lite breakfast, cleaning, new sheets every day. The hotel stuff was very kind and polite . Remembering this trip, i have nothing to complain about.

Very charming cozy hotel. The Room was a little small but extremely clean! Bathroom was clean and everything worked like a charm. The Hosts were absolutely amazing, very welcoming and gave great recommendations. Location is about a 5 minute walk to the Manzoni train station, and about a 20 minute walk to the coloseum. We walked around late at night...

Dona Lucia and her husband were the friendliest hotel hosts I have ever been too. Even despite the language barrier (which we solved easily with Google Translate App English to Italian), they were so helpful in every possible way. The breakfast is the BOMB!!! Dona Lucia is an excellent chef! The hotel is located near all major city attractions and...

We stayed for 4 nights, I would recommend looking elsewhere for stays longer than 2 nights. Wifi didn't work, included breakfast is all cooked early so it's cold if you don't get down until about 9:00. AC was broken! We also had a mosquito problem in the room... not fun! If you do stay here and don't speak Italian, download...

Ok, so this isn't your next 5 star hotel. Let's be clear: this is a 2-star hotel and it doesn't claim to be any higher. Having said that I really do think that this hotel does quite good. Yes, it isn't new. On the contrary you'll find a quite old hotel. It is worn and not modern in its design,...

With a very good position near the Colyseum, antic monuments, and the main metro line as well accessible in a few minutes, this a perfect hotel for a long week-end. This is a familial hotel, the holders are lovely. The rooms are clean, and the price very interesting regarding the service quality. We have been very satisfied of this stay...

My husband and I have been in this hotel for 3 nights. This is a very modest hotel as it has no luxury but has the necessary for 3 nights for someone that want a bed and breakfast. It is an hotel that is quite old.. but very nice and clean...and quite! The owners which are a couple, are both...

We arrived here only to find ourselves in the tiniest room and even tinier bathroom possible in the most basic condition. The host did not speak English. The room was badly lit with no plugs for charging. The shower was so small that if we were to stay, we wouldn't have been able to use it other than for washing...

Dear Customer, thank you for your review because i can take the opportunity to inform again our precious guest that is true that our rooms and bathrooms are not big but is also true that they are clean and are equipped with enough plugs to use for charging. Also all our rooms can be locked. I am very surprised to...

Hotel is 7 min to walk to metro station, and also not far from termini, which allows easy to get to any point in city. The owners don't speak English, just a few words. The breakfast was ok, nothing special, coffee/tea and some sausage and cheese with bread. The room was so so. Clean, quite old, but in ok state.....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
