Quiet, beautiful and safe. Only a few blocks from the subway, which gives you easy access to all areas of Rome. With a gated outside area and discreet staff it is the perfect escape after a long day of touring a magnificent city. The room/bathroom was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The concierge is wonderfully helpful. The free wifi is...

My wife and I recently returned from a long-awaited trip to Italy. We planned the trip ourselves, and relied on reviews from this site and others regarding where to stay. I'm can't recall what finally convinced us to choose the Hotel Aventino over all of our other options, but man did we make the right decision! The hotel is situated...

We stayed 4 nights at the Aventino in October and enjoyed it tremendously. Located in a quiet, treed neighbourhood yet only a 10 minute walk to the Circus Maximus. Staff were very accommodating, helpful. Breakfast was very good, the best coffee during our entire stay in Italy! We would definitely return!

When in Rome for business, I always try to stay at the Aventino: only a few minutes on foot to FAO and tourist attractions, but very green and quiet place on top of Aventino hill. Very friendly staff, delicious breakfast, cosy rooms

It is situated in a beautiful quiet garden, which was the perfect place for open a bottle of wine and some appetizers before you went out in the evening. The rooms at very European, though there was a big king bed. With it and the desk it was difficult...

This boutique style hotel is in the Aventino district, near the Circo Massimo. A former mansion converted into a charmer. Small rooms, but not unexpectedly so for Rome. Beautifully appointed however, with every comfort. The neighbourhood offered two restaurants that will go down as two of the tops meals ever. The family run, Roman Trattoria, Perilli and the the av...

Just returned from Rome and a wonderful holiday. As usual we stayed at Hotel Aventino. It is a nice hotel, situated in a quiet area. Very friendly and helpful staff. God restaurants I the neighbourhood. Easy access to transportation, both bus, tram and metro to the city centre. For a quick walker it would take about 20 minutes to Tibern...

As I am living in Rome, it was my friends I put up in this hotel. All of them were fully satisfied with the place, the staff, the atmosphere, the calm garden setting, and also with the price - thanks to the fact, that I booked months in advance (indirectly), which gave me the possibilty to have the rooms for...

It was our first time at this hotel and we only stayed for one night. The location is very good and central. You Can walk to Circus Maximus in 5 minutes and there are plante of public transport options. The service at the hotel was excellent and the breakfast offered was really good compared to normal Italian standards with yoghurts,...

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
