We were booked into another hotel for five nights. Apparently they were overbooked and sent us to the Prince Galles. The room was ok, but we were freaked out by the sign in the bathroom that said "No potable water." We asked at reception if they would provide bottled water for us. The response was we could use the mini-bar,...

We didn't originally booked in this hotel but we were transferred they because of overbooking(??!!).. We had a retro room, with an internal second floor where the bed was! The bathroom was just renovated and it was pretty luxurious! The elevator was really small and not suitable for people who are afraid of tiny spaces! The breakfast wasn't good but...

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size and clean. I did not like having to walk up a flights of stairs from the bathroom and rest of room up to the bed area. The location is very handy if you are going to catch a train as it is close to the main terminal in Rome.

As I was expecting to be catching an early shuttle bus from Termini station, I had pre-paid and booked another hotel (Hotel Madison) which was right next to Termini station, but on arrival was told that my booking was transferred to a sister hotel - Prince Galles. I was told (rather optimistically) that this was a nicer place, just 100m...

The staff was friendly and helpfull. The entrance of the annex was not very inviting. The lay-out of the room was very strange. And all covered with a kind of carpet on the walls and ceiling. In the room there was a strange smell. The shower was not working correct. The hotel is near Termini trainstation.

This is a great little hotel that we chose because it was close to Termini. Nice, cheap pizza shop around the corner, too, for a quick bite and walking distance to the Metro, which we used every day to get around. The entrance hallway is a bit antiquated but it adds to the charm and the staff is friendly. The...

On the first day we had two problems: a) the guy who was leading us to the room with the bags was almost running instead of walking calmly. We had just come from Brazil and weren´t in the mood for that hush; b) the first room we were put in was terrible! (room 304). It has been recently built and...

I didn't book this room at all, we were just upgraded to it from a lower scale hotel that they also owned a few streets away closer to Roma Termini, so I couldn't complain as I did not have to pay extra for it . The room is nice (two storey), the bathroom is very nice , the safe in...

Great location, close to station Termini. Huge 2 levels room, the decor is a little too old fashion, but the bathroom is really nice. Small elevator so is preferable to use the stairs. No wifi included. Good breakfast

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
