Neighbourhood
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

I scoured most of the internet trying to find a decently priced hotel that was proximal to Termini/most of what we wanted to see, modern, and had decent reviews. Whilst i was not entirely disappointed, there are a few wee niggles that *just* missed this place off a 5 star

Room way too small Rock hard bed Wouldn’t allow cancellation Would never recommend To get the most out of a visit to Rome this is not the place to stay. Stay in an older Hotel with the charm Rome offers. Hated this place.

My wife and I visited here in 2017. This was our first hotel in Italy that we were stopping at before we headed to Florence and then off to Venice. I must say that the staff were really friendly and very accommodating. They allowed us to drop off our bags in the lobby as we were

The hotel helped us to book the airport transfer (had an early flight to catch) and to me they help with other bookings as well, but we planned everything ourselves and booked some tours ourselves before the trip. The breakfast was pretty much the same every day, a good variety of things to choose from thou, especially cold dishes and pastries. The cappuccino (you have to ask it separately) was excellent as well. Other than that the breakfast area is "the restaurant" later in the evening and we didn't find if very cosy. There are quite some restaurants around the hotel but we only ate in the area once - not very happy with the service, food was good like almost everywhere in Italy. Would definitely recommend to eat elsewhere in Rome if possible. We didn't find the area that disturbing even if the hotel is close to the main station. We arrived quite late to the hotel several evenings and nobody ever bothered us. Across the street there is a large grocery store which I highly recommend for snacks, beverages etc.
