La Casa di Kaia is my home away from home. It is charming, cozy and owned and operated by a friendly, warm and energenic woman named Sylvie. She loves to share her love and knowledge of Rome with her guests. When you arrive she lets you get settled, then sits with you in the cozy kitchen she designed and decorated...

La Casa di Kaia is going to be my "spot" in Rome. It's basically a 3-br, 1-ba apartment on the fourth floor of a building ideally located within the Trastevere neighborhood. Sylvie was so sweet, responsive, and hospitable throughout the booking process and my stay. I was a solo traveler for this trip and wasn't looking for new friends or...

I only stayed one night at this apartment but it was perfectly situated. Sylvia was extremely helpful and the apartment had everything you needed to make you stay pleasant. A great base to see all the sights....but away from all the tourist crowds!!

Sylvie runs this place incredibly well. It was in a beautiful neighbourhood (Trastevere) with excellent restaurants just around the corner. She has many excellent recommendations and my room was beautiful. I was even given a random free upgrade to a double room! Her instructions on how to get there are very detailed too. The wifi is excellent and you feel...

A great place to stay if you are planning to visit Rome! The apartment is in a lovey Trastevere neighborhood, close to the main sites. The room is very spacious and comfortable and has a lovely view. The hosts were very welcoming, they responded very quickly on a short notice and even though I arrived very early in the morning,...

This is what I wrote in the guest book: “Thank you for the wonderful and warm stay. Lovely rooms and exceptional tips about Roma. Many Thanks” To enjoy getting out and about in the lovely local neighborhood - you will need to be OK with climbing 4 flights of stairs. We had backpacks-and were fine with the work out :).....

I had a great stay at Kaia and highly recommend you to visit the place. Sylvia was abroad during my stay so I was received by the neighbor, Emilio, who was extremely friendly and helpful with tips and recommandations for my stay.

We had a great 4-nights stay with them on May 2015. It was our second time we’ve been to Rome, and the second time we’ve stayed in Trastevere. It certainly worth it. This cozy B&B lies in the very (calmer) heart of Trastevere. Besides the concentration of people being mostly around Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, there are plenty...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
