Stayed here just one night. I didn't expect much of it after previous hostel experiences, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small but it was clean, as was the bathroom, and the bed was good. Two point of improvement: there were only two power outlets in a room for six people, more...

-1 : the area is unsafe ( drugs, people drinking while lying on walls etc) -2 located in an old building. when you get in, you can smell the trash. -3 the staff is not smiley or even polite. The last day, I asked the receptionist to leave my bad for the day and come back later. He said yes...

First, it is in front of the Termini.. Not easy to find! Beside the Chicken Hut, keep your eyes on that! Staffs can't speak English, only one which is the young guy.. Room too small but value for money.. Key is hard to open.. Bathroom is good.. Area is not really that safe for solo female at night..

Close to the Termini station where the neighborhood looks unsafe. But it's safe and you dont have to worry about it. Situated on the 1st floor and you're in another world. Renovated, well-designed and well-equipped place. Breakfast included jam, croissant and juice, coffee for free in kitchen. Kitchen available with fridge, plates, mugs. The room (we had for 4 persons)...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“the beds move a little but so like most hostels try to get the bottom bunk, and they have to lockers or places to put your expensive stuff, so keep that in mind.”

“We had a dude that snored like a chainsaw. This doesn't have much to do with the hostel, but if you enjoy your sleep, bring earplugs. More of a general hostel tip than anything with Romangelo.”
