Lilium was our first stop in Italy and after comparing with several other hotels, overall we liked it. Positive: Good breakfast, very clean, friendly staff, big bathroom, free internet Negative: Hard to locate the hotel (no clear sign), simple furniture (we prefer more modern furniture)

This hotel is only a five minute walk (or a few minutes on the bus) from the Termini/bus station with a bus route into town a few minutes walk away from the hotel itself. The hotel is on the third floor with the superior rooms (with small balcony) facing onto a quiet courtyard, is very well decorated, modern and very... More

We stayed at the Hotel Lilium while in Rome for our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier there. The rooms were lovely with a nice bathroom, clean rooms, a balcony, and air conditioning. The staff were great, they helped us call the airport a few times to ask about our lost baggage. The breakfast was very good and everything... More

This hotel is a treasure. I was thinking of keeping it to myself but that would be unfair. My single room I stayed in was a little pokey (the only negative of my stay, but I glanced into one of the doubles and they looked very comfortable) but the facilities were excellent -safe, fridge with free bottled water, good shower,... Accomodations in Rome are difficult because more often than not you feel as though you've paid alot for nothing! The Lilium Hotel is a great little boutique hotel without the prices. We loved our stay there. It is very convienient to most all attractions and the train station. We were lugging backpacks so the being near to the station was... More

I stayed at the Lilium in May and loved it. The rooms aren't massive but are well thought out, modern and really clean, the only problem might be if you were very tall, you may find the rooms a little compact. The staff were very helpful and personable and the location was excellent. The breakfast was fantastic - not the... More

We booked the Lilium Hotel on the basis of some good reviews. Sorry to disagree but we were disappointed. The hotel is on the third floor of a non descript building and if you don't like lifts, it is quite hike (and I am fit!). On the plus side, the hotel is beautifully clean and well kept. However, the rooms... More

breakfast room really pleasant, breakfast excellent, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice beautiful. Hotel itself very clean, staff helpful but the major downside to all this was the size of the rooms - they are very small - also no wardrobe space at all.

This hotel is gorgeous! A small boutique hotel with lots of character, gorgeous furnishings and is extremely clean. Guests can use a complimentary laptop for their room, and breakfast is simple but yummy! The coffee is delicious! Walking distance to the tourist attractions, shops and cafes (10-15 mins to most of them), or the bus stop is right outside. Found... More

We stayed at the Hotel Lilium in September and it was better than we were expecting! It was very clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. As a 'tourist' class hotel, it was worth the money we paid for it. It was a short walk to most of the major tourist sites, but you were not right in... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Liliumhotel has been reviewed by the National Geographic Traveler Magazine and has been inserted in the Eyewitness Travel Guide, which says of us: "On the third floor of a residential building midway between Termini and Via Veneto, Lilium is a charming little Hotel. Each of its small, beautifully decorated rooms is named after a flower and painted to match. The breakfast and sitting rooms are pretty with fresh flowers and colorful Australian songbirds. Excellent staff." ... more   less
