Our host, who's apartment you are effectively staying in, was wonderfully welcoming and very helpful. We had our own room, lounge area (which had been made up into another double bed) and nicely appointed bathroom. We stayed for 3 nights over Easter. The breakfast is provided by a nearby cafe and includes a croissant or sandwich and a coffee. The...

I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted by Danieli (Flaminia's husband) who gave me an organized rundown on the building and the particulars. I was immediately impressed with the size of my accommodation and the cleanliness of the property. I only stayed for one night but spent considerable time in my room as it was near the end...

We stayed a night only, and the services ware very good. Flaminia was very helpful and she arranged our late check in. It is clean and convenient. The B&B is close to the Roman Forum, Coliseum and many other tourists. These are within 20-30 minute walk.

We had a good stay at BB When in Rome. The building is located in Trastevere, a trendy neighborhood with plenty of bars and restaurants, and easy access to public transport (Bus, tram, train). The home decor is quite ... interesting/funny. Some kind of cheap rococo/baroque style. We had a quadruple room, which was spacious, clean and with good bedding....

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Flaminia's When in Rome B&B. She was very helpful with local knowledge of Rome. We were in Rome for a week, a couple of days after Easter 2013. Flaminia arranged a transfer from the airport. The rooms were clean bright and well suited for our families needs. It was very family...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
