We stayed here for 3 nights last week. We had an amazing welcome from Assunta! She was so excited to show us around and give us all the tips on what to see and how to get there. Her specially printed maps were incredibly helpful showing bus and metro routes in relation to the main attractions and the accommodation. The...

These apartments are a true home from home. An excited, warm welcome from Assunta, greeted us in rapid Italian. Saying she was happy to see us! A little lounge area, small bathroom and veranda on entering our apartment, following on to our comfortable, double room. Fresh towels everyday always a happy word from Assunta and excellent recommendations. We will return...

Bravo Assunta! The proprietor of this wonderful find couldn't have been any nicer and we wish we were staying more than one night! The "hotel"/b&b was a little hard to find even with a taxi but when we did we were pleasantly surprised. Located in a "apartment/converted" building it is charming. There is a bar/coffee and pastarie shop just outside...

We only had a day and a half in Rome, and we wanted to make the most of it. Assaunta was great in helping us prioritize our To-Do list. Upon arriving, she pointed out the major sights on a tourist map for us, with instructions on which metro lines and buses we should take. She also gave us restaurant recommendations...

A room in an ex-apartment on the 5th floor, with a little balcony. Air conditioning that works. Comfortable beds, and everything very clean. Extremely quiet. Best of all, you are in San Lorenzo, which is worth a few days of wandering, even though it is tiny. Perfect location if you are doing something at the university. Don't expect breakfast (even...

In a month i stayed twice at this room rental, and i liked it very much. The owner is helpful and kind, the rooms are big and clean, with a/c, tv and ensuite bathroom. The location is very good:10' walking from Termini station, and near s lorenzo zone, full of restaurants and pizzerie. The breakfast is made of biscuits, hot...

Assunta Really knows how to make you feel at home and the Pickup Taxi Service from Rome Airport was 5 Star Chauffeur Driven Service in a Mercedes cheaper than the cost of standard Airport Taxis. Thank You Assunta

Bed and breakfast in student area. Nice rooms- large and comfortable. Breakfast was help yourself to tea/coffe with pre-packaged pastries. These not so great. Advertised a terrace for breakfast, but the views are not that great.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
