Very affordable! Big dorm rooms. Clean and comfortable beds. Nice, spotless bathrooms with good water pressure. Enjoyed my stay, except it was hard to sleep in the hot weather because there is no A/C. It took all night to cool the rooms down with windows open, and I woke up drenched in sweat every morning. I'd probably pay for a...

Stayed there for 4 nights in the hostel, which is in a separate building from the hotel and address specified on Trip Advisor. Rooms are very clean, simple. Safe is in each room and the lockers are in the hallway. Bring your own lock for those. Three shared bathrooms amongst all of the rooms caused some lines in the morning...

Upon arriving at this hostel, I was immediately taken down the road and put in another building which had a number of rooms. The room was spacious, but there were no lockers inside the room, instead they were out in the hallway, which I didn't trust at all. I ended up having to leave my bags under my bed with...

There are two buildings, one is a hotel with hostel in the top floor and the second is a hostel. I stayed in the main building which has the hostel. Review is for that. 1) Excellent Location- walking distance to the bus stop and the metro station. And all main attractions are 2 to 3 stops in the metro. 2)...

One of the cheapest I could find online in Rome !! You check in at a hotel at the address given then you walk and find the hostel few blocks away with a map provided at the reception ! No one at the hostel except the guests ! I'm not sure if there's a kitchen ! Bathrooms are dirty and...

Stayed here for a week and a half. Place can be tricky to find, the main entrance to check in is not where you stay. I was given a key and a crappy map to find the actual hostel room location. Walked a couple blocks to find the place with no idea if what I was headed to was right....

We stayed in one of the private rooms that required use of a shared bathroom. (The hotel/hostel is in the same building as Hotel des Artistes.) The shared bathroom was always clean (although the shower stall is very small), and we never had to wait to use them. We were there on the weekend, so there was some noise late...

My brother and I rent out out own room, which was nice. In the close proximity were 2 bathrooms and 2 showers. Everything was clean and we'll take cared for. Internet was super slow and often times non-existant but for the most part it's in a great area and was a nice place to go back to and rest. Not...

This place is less than average! The photos of lush headboards, beautiful draped curtains and orchids is a far stretch from what it actually is! We started at this beautiful reception area, only to be diverted 2 blocks away to our actual hostel. We were then unfortunately given the room at the front entrance on the street side next to...

The best thing from this hostel is the location, very close to the main station in Rome. People that I shared the room with were quiet and respectful, I almost didn't notice them. Bathrooms are shared, generally I found them available and clean. They are also very spacious. The internet is very bad and they charge me 12 euros for...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
