Yes, a modest improvement here and there could be made tbh. The "mini-bar" needs to be re-named a mini fridge, as it is empty and u r meant to use it and stock as u like. if u are expecting to be pampered or have room service (as in Amercan hotels) forget about it. Breakfast buffet is good with meats,...

I booked the hotel for 4 nights. The first night it was overbooked so they sent me to a different hotel. This is the only real complaint I have as they sent me to a lower quality hotel on the other side of the train station. I was told it was similar to a University area, and that is only...

What a find of a hotel! Actually its a reformed monastery so the rooms are situated within the church. A great sense of grandeur & with the old city walls surrounding it. Public transport closeby, and colosseum only 10 mins away.

The Domus is in a good location a couple of blocks from the Metro Station San Giovanni (Best travel bargain in Rome, it only cost one Euro to just about everywhere but the Airport.) The STAFF is very accommodating and informative when asked where something is. Our room was not as big as we had seen online but is was...

Those looking for a regular hotel along the lines of Hilton, Holiday Inn etc may be disappointed, but this is a great quirky choice of hotel in Rome. The hotel is an extension to the church, and the decor reflects this. Since we we part of a group we saw several rooms: the rooms on the first floor are generally...

The experience at this hotel was absolutely perfect! The location is at the Aurelian Wall giving you stunning views of the wall and just a 2-3 minute walk to San Giovvani in Laterno - the Church from which we were told the Pope officiates over Rome. We stayed in room 50 which was very large by European (and to an...

The location of the hotel is quite good – but the management and reception desk service is not acceptable. It took 3 days to repair the heating and the last two nights were a disaster. We had a group of youths in the next two rooms. During the early hours of the first night we confronted them personally twice, asking...

What better foyer than an entry to the basilica! The accommodations were beautiful, clean, quiet and had easy access to all attractions of Rome. A great place for cappuccino was right across the street. Breakfast was included and very adequate. 24 hr desk service was nice to have. I felt safe and secure as well.

Stayed here last summer for two weeks alone and came back for one night on my honeymoon as a stay over before flying to Ireland. Very safe, clean and reasonably priced room with good breakfast.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
