We've been to Rome several times and we always end up staying at the Beehive. We say, "maybe we should try someplace different," and then we think for a minute and say, "nah, let's stay at the Beehive." The rooms are comfortable, and clean, and quiet. The staff has always been great. It's a easy walk to the train station....

I stayed in the dormitory which was really nice, great bunks, very quiet and I slept really well. Great place to stay for solo travellers looking for good quality cheap accommodation. Cafe fantastic, wonderful breakfasts. I had a look in the rooms and they looked great. Staff really helpful. Lovely quiet garden. Excellent location very near station but in quiet...

This was our second stay at the Millefiori apartment of the Beehive. We liked it even better this time as we discovered the wonderful local market, and the metro station just a block away. Last time our whole family took the apartment but this time we shared it with the most interesting people from around the world--Malaysia, Australia and other...

Staying at one of the Beehive's apartments was a great experience. It was conveniently located near the train station, with public transport and late night shopping at our disposal. The rooms were all diffently decorated and very clean with comfortable beds. The common areas were cleaned every day and the kitchen stocked with basics so we could make coffee in...

Great hostel! We were staying at a different low-budget hostel that was awful, and heard about the Beehive through friends. When we went in to ask about a room, they luckily had one open in one of their apartments and were incredibly helpful about helping us book it. The room was HUGE, had good beds, an armchair, and some good...

We loved the Beehive and our accommodation at the 'Clover' ...rooms and common areas were spotless, staff were friendly and helpful ....location was great, it was convenient to transportation (airport buses, inter city trains - local transit etc.) Rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated 'shabby chic' style ...beds were very comfortable with duvet covers ...windows opened for fresh air and...

Only three streets away from Rome's Termini station, the location is convenient, the price is right, the shared bathrooms are down the hall and the delicious breakfasts are organic. The extremely helpful and friendly staff speak good English. The only minuses are that the showers are in hot demand between 7 and 8 each morning, so you sometimes have to...

A clean place that gives you a refuge from the busy street of Rome. The shared bathrooms are not a big deal as there are plenty of them. Access to the computer in the common area was very nice as I didn’t want to be tied down with my computer but did want to keep in touch. The staff were...

The Beehive is one of the cleanest and coziest hostels I've ever stayed in. The beds and toilets are clean, with great decoration too. Location is fantastic, less than 5 mins from the station, walkable to all sights (except Vatican, unless you're willing to walk pretty far). Staff was relatively friendly as well. Only drawback was that it's a bit...

Thank you very much Toyfriend for your review and I'm very glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I'd like to point out to potential future guests, in regards to prices, that you were charged €27, which is comprised of €25 (our nightly rate in the dorm) and €2 per night tourist tax that Rome has implemented since 1 January...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
