I stayed at the Beehive in a single room with a private bathroom for three nights and it was wonderful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel has great common space (indoors and out) and the little cafe is perfect for a delicious, affordable breakfast. I thought the location was very convenient too - just a five minute...

My ten year old daughter and I have just come home from a three night stay here and we both loved it. We stayed in a clean, large bright and sunny room with our own bathroom right across the hall in The Sweets. The location, two blocks from Termini, was so convenient. The hostel atmosphere in a hotel-standard establishment was...

The Beehive is a four minute walk from Termini Train Station in Rome. It is very easy to find. The location cannot be beat for touring Italy. From Termini you can go anywhere on the excellent Italian train system, including a direct line to the main Rome airport. The facility is a very good value. Private rooms, quite clean with...

We stayed at The Sweets for two nights on our way back to Montreal from our visit of Southern Italy. When booking our room and confirming our arrival I communicated with Yuli by email. She was very quick and precise in responding to my messages. On our arrival she took time to show us our room at the apartment building...

We booked a private room here, and it was very clean and had a window opening onto the garden. The cafe area is great (as was the breakfast food) and staff was very helpful with tips and suggestions for the area. Super convenient to Rome's main train station, and walking distance to some major sights.

This was our second visit to The Beehive and we were as happy with it as we were two years ago. Check in was fast and even though we had arrived before 1:00 pm our room in The Sweets (the same one we had on our first visit) was ready for us. The room is large with a small balcony,...

Dear Aisling C, Thanks for the positive comments you gave at the beginning of your review and for your feedback. We're sorry you felt you didn't have the kind of stay we strive to offer. To elaborate on some of your comments: Our mattresses are orthopedic and are indeed firm, and we find that many people, us included, prefer them...

They basically wanted to make us pay for a room we were not going to stay in, because we asked to check out at 1pm. Rome was crowded, people were asking for the room, so they wanted to make us pay on the reason it was late check out. No understanding, no friendly attitude after we stayed 3 nights, changing...

Dear Marie-Marie W, You were unwilling to listen to me then, so for other guests who may be reading this - I will explain what happened. Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
