Great location and a great social place which attracts friendly guests! Perfect for the solo traveller. Cocktail party was great fun - cheap cocktails and cheap bruschetta! Didn't bother with breakfast at the hostel so can't comment on that. Rooms were fine - clean enough but a bit annoying that you have to pay a deposit to use the TV...

Really liked this hostel. Got off the train and the hostel was across the road and down a street, very close. The street at first looked a bit dodgy with some homeless people but we soon began to realised that was very common everywhere in this part of Rome. There was tonnes of restaurants around this hostel, plenty choice. The...

This hostel was clean, friendly and the en-suite bathrooms were a bonus. Didn't bother with breakfast as I saw better quality offers in surrounding places but it was cheap enough. It has aircon in the rooms which can be a little noisy but if you take earplugs you'll be fine. The rooftop cocktail parties were excellent and get everyone talking...

We stayed two nights in it. The hostel is no more than 3 min walking from Termini Station, that means that it's very easy to get there from any part of the historical centre by bus or tube. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was big enough and clean, with aircon (a bit noisy), TV and safe...

Pros: - close to the train station - private bathrooms - lockers - clean - comfortable beds - busy bar Cons: - man on reception (tall, dark/grey hair, also worked on bar) spoke good english but could have been a lot more friendly. - no kitchen facilities - expensive - bar small and dingy and very loud. No other real...

The only advantage for this hostel is that it is close to the train station. Otherwise it is a bad accommodation : there is no kitchen if you want to cook neither a fridge to put cold drinks, the hostel doesn't proposed any meal, the room I had smells mould, humidity and dust ! I find a dead insect in...

This hostel was pretty decent. The location was in a semi-sketch neighborhood, but it had easy access to the train station which was helpful. The hostel itself was very clean and had nice and helpful staff. We were there mid week, but they still offered plenty of nightlife action and cheap drinks at the bar inside the hostel. Very helpful...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
