Our staying at Montecarlo hotel was amazing. It all started when our booked hotel in the first place (Best western) was not booked because of some stupid site that wasnt updated that they were fully-booked already and didnt had a eoom for us. So Best western took care of us and moved us only to one night to Montecarlo. The...

This hotel is surprisingly quiet given its proximity to Termini -- I was quite comfortable walking around late in the evening. My room was comfortable if on the small side: but there was a large bathroom, and a terrace. It was all kept impeccably clean. Almost everyone at reception was extremely helpful and polite, and the serving staff at the...

Loved the hotel. Got a room facing the street. It is a short walk from Roma termini and close by to the Metro station. Has restaurants and local markets nearby. Beautiful rooms , clean and just the right size, nor too small nor too big. Good hotel staff. They help you with maps, local touristy stuff and airport shuttle. They...

I stood here for 3 nights... Staff it's not so good Reception person Sergei looked frustrated, was rude, overwhelmed and not helpful. I'm ok with retro look but room was way too small completely dated and dark. Bathroom was roomy but I almost didn't fit thru the shower door and no I am not big. Breakfast was less than acceptable....

Very good stay. Extremely helpful staff. Comfortable room. Good but basic breakfast. A very big plus was that my husband, who is coeliac, was extremely well looked after. If you're there for a few days, get an extended Hop on Hop off bus ticket and use it as a means of getting around the city.

Small hotel with ornate decor off the main streets but within walking distance to the termini or a fair walk to main attractions of Roma.Helpful, friendly staff. We used the hotel as a base so cannot comment on facilities that the hotel offers, which is reflected in our rating.Would stay again.

A small but descent hotel, with not so big rooms and a small breakfast room -with no great variety-but in a quiet and safe district... its about ten minutes walking distance from milano centrale... The rooms(i had a superior one) are not modern but they are clean and pleasant... I would recommend it

We had booked for 2 nights for 2 persons with kid of 4 years. First impressions were really bad and it remained the same through out the stay. When we entered the hotel reception area (10ftx15ft room) had to struggle with our luggage. There are big steps to reach the reception area and then to again to reach the lift.....

I enjoyed my stat at The Montecarlo, it is in a great location, with friendly staff and unique rooms. I stayed on the 5th floor, the room had nice tapestry and decorative wallpaper that gave it an antique feel (In a good way!). The shower had great water pressure, and the bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was typical continental fare, nothing...

Excellent hotel, recommend it to everyone. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Attentive staff. Delicious breakfast. I liked the luggage storage at the hotel. 1 min walk Bus station and head for the city center or the Vatican directly.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
