My husband and I were quite pleased with the B & B Calamatta. The room we stayed in was larger than any of the other hotel rooms that we stayed in during our 15-day trip to Europe. The staff was also friendlier than any of the other personal in any of our other stays. I appreciated how personable both of...

Great location, close to the Vatican and only a 30 minute walk to the Colosseum. Clean rooms, very comfortable, good air conditioning. Breakfast was a 3 minute walk to an Italian-style cafe. Could have offered a bit more robust breakfast but great cappuccinos..! About 20 stairs, but easy to get to 2nd floor (didn't try the older elevator, may have...

Nice and very clean room. Not fancy style like new hotels but still comfortable, cleaned every day. Excelent location - close to vatican and ancient Rome's center so you don't have to use buses nor metro. Italian style breakfast is in cafeteria near by, with excelent coffee... There is very pretty, old style elevator in building where B&B Calamatta is...

Staff were super friendly - nothing was too much trouble, providing pointers of where to go and how to get there. Room was clean. Overall location was great - everything was in walking distance. Colosseum was the furthest attraction away but a pleasant 30 min walk.

We stayed for 3 nights over a long weekend in Rome. This place really exceeded my expectations. The B&B is a great place on a moderate budget - it was quite cheap for a European city and there are definitely more expensive places! The location was perfect, although the entrance itself is fairly concealed in a side street. We walked...

I had initially only planned on staying in rome for two days, so i decided to stay here for its proximity to the vatican and the center. Valerio and Pamela went above and beyond in giving me recommendations for my short trip and alas, I ended up extending my stay in Rome. When you arrive they'll give you coffee and...

I am delighted to write this review for The Calamatta ! Our experience there was terrific! Valerio and staff were amazing! Valerio booked our sights and spent a lot of time helping us plan our weekend in Rome. It felt like a home away from home for my family and I and we were so grateful that there was no...

The Calamatta B&B was amazing. It feels more like a home. All the staff are nice and friendly and willing to give advice. The location is just superb. The property was nice and clean, so was the room and the bathroom. The included breakfast in the bar nearby was delicious, with a perfect coffee and croissants. All in all we...

This B&B was just perfect. You could not ask for a better location. I was within 1.5 miles walking distance to everything I wanted to see. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They had great recommendations for places to eat. When I arrived, they had a map ready to show me places of interest. I had also told them...

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
