This hotel was *fabulous*. I absolutely loved it. I stayed in January 2018, and it couldn't have been better. Trastevere is a wonderful neighborhood and just a short walk from all of the sights in Rome (Pantheon, Vatican City, the Colosseum, and so on). It...More
We love small, intimate hotels and the Santa Maria was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting Rome. It's location in the Trastevere neighborhood was also perfect...right in the middle of a food and entertainment area where locals spend the evenings...far enough away...More
This small hotel is an oasis of calm in the busy Trastevere district of Rome. Great area to be in as it’s full of lovely restaurants, bars and unique shops. Lovely breakfast and super friendly staff always ready to help.
The Hotel Santa Maria is an Hotel de Charme located in a 16th century cloister completely renovated in the year 2000 maintaining the flavour of the original construction. It makes a very pleasant base in a …Moreromantic and relaxing ambience. Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
