Excellent Location, Wonderful Helpful Staff, Nice Breakfasts, Great Value. That said, the rooms are quite small and the showers are beyond tiny. But really, how much time are you going to be in the room when all of Rome is just steps away? Closest attractions...More
The Hotel Grifo is an absolutely lovely hotel and couldn’t be better located. It is on a small cobblestone street that is lined with cafes and just a quick walk from the Coliseum. Just 1-2 minutes down the street is a Piazza that is just...More
Great location! just a 5-10 minute walk from the Coliseum and Roman Forum.
Small rooms, but clean and no issues. The AC worked (as we were there over the summer, and it was HOT, 90's everyday).
The staff was great. There were three...More
This past week was our second stay here and first off-season visit to Rome. The hotel offers basic requirements (clean, comfort,Wifi, location, affordable) but the excellent staff makes El Grifo the place to stay. They are professional, hospital and engaging. They helped this young at heart, new to...More
Clean, friendly, central with staff who are fonts of knowledge regarding the way this city works and how to get the best from it. Alessandro made my trip with his handy tips on where to eat and routes to walk. I will return.
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighbourhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighbourhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at
Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.

I don't think so. You can email the hotel to verify, but there is no designated on-street parking that we saw and no parking garage. The hotel is great at responding promptly and they all speak multiple languages.
Yes it is very safe. Great hotel. Our problem was that a hotel cleaning staff member removed two nice woman’s tops from the closet. Of course they denied it but it happened. So watch your stuff and check each day.
