The B & B is a small appartment within a larger building containing at least 2 other B & B establishments. This in itself is not a problem but a bit of a surprise if you're not expecting it. The good things? The room was spacious and clean and the bed comfortable. Location is okay as you are not far...

Very poor standard of accommodation especially given the price. The place was dirty, had limited hot water, bugs / insects in the room, one pillow per person, no quilt covers, bathroom door would not shut. The host was very unhelpful and spoke very limited English. Just stay somewhere else!!!!

The hotel is a clean, cosy and cheap bargain. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Staying in Trastevere was the best decision we made whrn travelling to Rome: the place is beautiful, picturesque, full of locals and by far the best place to eat exceptional meals at a decent price! The hotel is situated near the train and bus...

Two full months after booking they emailed me to let me know the booking had been cancelled and I had been charged the cancellation fee .... I had made no such request and can only assume it was a computer glitch or administration error on their part; (they were and remain unable to offer evidence or even an explanation over...

We arrived later than expected due to flight delay, but the host, Mrs. Caravella, has waited for us even after check-in time limit - we really appreciated this. The room has no carpet on the floor and you tend to walk between bedroom and bathroom without changing to slippers - the filth has been carried from one room to another....

This is a very well-located and super clean b+b, close to the train station in Trastevere. The host is lovely, although she speaks no English and only a little French. However, it is just off a very noisy street, and even with the windows closed, it was still pretty loud (I needed to sleep with earplugs). Also, don't expect much...

Great value less than 2 blocks from Roma Trastevere regional train station. The proprietor didn't speak English, but she had her daughter there that translated everything just fine. WIFI signal wasn't very good in the room, but out in the hallway was a terrific signal. Located on the 3rd floor of what appeared to be a very secure building in...

The headline may be a bit unfair. This is a good place, 5 minutes walk from Trastevere train station (linked to the Fiumicini Airport) and with good communications to wherever you want to go in Rome. The rooms are clean and nice, the hostas are kind and helpful and there is little to complain about. But for the price we...

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
