Rooms are comfortable an extremely clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. Location is in a residential area with a fabulous market next door. Hotel is located in a neighborhood that is being revitalized. However, we felt safe within the hotel and very satisfied with security features.

We don't usually include 3star hotels in our first Google search for a hotel - but I am so glad we did and found this place. It is much nicer than many 4star places that I have previously stayed at. Firstly, we got to our room around 9.40pm for check in due to a flight delay - and the receptionist...

We stayed at the Re Testa for four nights in February. We choose this hotel as we love the area of Testaccio, with its market and less touristy restaurants and food shops. The room was very good, we got a great deal and thought the hotel represented excellent value. The breakfast was fine, basic but enjoyable. I know this sounds...

Stayed here twice and had a good time. Spacy rooms with even facilities to cook. But even with the best market around the corner, who wants to cook when in Rome? Breakfast at La Moderna is basic but comes with a smile, and so does the extra cup of coffee. Excellent location, 15 minutes walk to Colloseum, value for your...

De Resta is conveniently located in the north of working class heart of Testaccio. There are lots of restaurants/bars and night clubs nearby a well as a large food market directly behind the hotel. Think of an Italian equivalent of Borough Market and you get the idea. Its also very cheap going out locally. Its 20 minutes walk to the...

We found the hotel to be clean and modern. The room was far bigger than we expected for the price we paid and had the added bonus of a huge terrace with a table and four patio chairs as well as the option of a kitchenette for an additional 15euros. The breakfast was disappointing and was served in the pizza...

I stayed in this hotel fpr 2 nights for business. My price was around 100 GBP // 110 Euro per night including breakfast. The hotel is from the first impression a bit strange. It is a long hallway with lots of rooms and the lobby in the middle. Everyhing is in the first floor (not ground floor). When entering the...

The hotel is in an up and coming area of Rome in the Testaccio district. It's clean, smart, trendy and easy access via buses/Metro/walking to the main centre of Rome. The reception staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful showing you were things were via their maps, printing bus timetables, finding out information in general really. My room was lovely,...

This hotel was very good, nice and helpfull personel at the frontdesk, cosy and clean rooms and a very Big balcony. The area was nice and near all the big must see sights in Rome. The breakfast was not that good, that you have to go next door at a restaurant with very disapointing breakfast and even more disapointing service...

My partner and I stayed here during our first trip to Rome for 6 nights. After reading reviews I was worried about the amount of noise I would hear (being a light sleeper) so we emailed ahead and asked for an even numbered quiet room and I barely heard anything the entire time I slept there! All the staff were...

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
