Our room (twin) was at the front, which meant it was too noisy to leave window open at night due to laneway traffic, but the A/C was adequate for the time of year. Room was smallish, but perfectly fine as we didn't spend any time there. The mattresses need renewing as both of us could feel the springs and I...

We spent 6 nights this year and it was a dream vacation for us. The location was ideal- very close to Campo de Fiori (about a block) and a couple of blocks south of Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. About a 5min walk to the Capitoline Hill. Nice restaurant across the street and a Forno for dinner on our terrace....

Our stay at the Smeraldo was fantastic. Walter at the desk was helpful with any questions and a great conversationalist. Our room was very comfortable, air conditioned and there is an elevator which was great. The hotel is located within walking distance of many of the major points of interest, such as Campo di Fiori, Piazza Nevona, Pantheon and Trevi...

The Smeraldo is in a great location for those that are looking to walk to most of the sites in Rome. It has a fantastic bakery right around the corner to the left (when you walk out of the hotel), and a tasty restaurant right across the street. The staff is friendly and helpful. We especially liked the small terrace...

Only stayed 2 nights at the Smeraldo on a whirlwind weekend in Rome. Everything was great, check in/out very prompt and efficient and our room was ready early. Excellent location in the narrow cobbled streets 5 minutes from Campo de' Fiori and Largo Argentina ( a main transport hub ) We had a triple room which was fairly large compared...

Excellent location in the middle of locals and close to Trastevere & many other key areas. We slept in the annex although we requested a room in the main site. But it was not bad at all. The room was small and clean. TV and air conditioning working. A small fridge would have been useful. The bathroom was ok -...

First time in Rome and several people had recommended we stay in this area, so I went w/ this Rick Steve's recommendation. I was pleasantly surprised by this very nice and simple little hotel. I met my 60ish mother in Rome and we stayed for 5 nights. We did request a room in the main hotel and not the annex...

Just returned from a wonderful vacation in Rome. And I can only recommend Smeraldo Hotel. The location is so great. We were able to walk everythere (yes - my feet really hurts now). There are lot of shops, small cafés and restaurants in the neighbourhood. The Campo de Fiori is only 5 minuttes walk away. The rooms are very small,...

Staying in Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori

Neighbourhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
