The hotel was really lovely. Had a modern feel but still maintaining some traditional charm. The welcome from the reception staff on arrival was fantastic - given a map of the city and some top tips - nothing was too much trouble. Our room was small (as you expect with a city hotel) but spotlessly clean and had everything we...

Had a dark room in the annex. Functional. Smallest shower ever. Noisy in the street outside - this is usual for this area of Rome - but also much noise from other guests inside the hotel. Roof terrace in the annex is small space but a little haven to sit and be in the light. Breakfast was good. Walking distance...

The hotel is in a great location for visiting the sites in historic Rome. Also walkable to the Roman sites and Vatican. Rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was extensive and the roof top terrace is a huge bonus! Staff were very helpful and welcoming.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Smeraldo. The staff was very professional and helpful. The room was clean and fully met our needs. The breakfast was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. The location is also very good. The only downside is the street noise that occurred 24 hours a day. To be clear, the noise was not constant, but we...

Second time in a year we have stayed at the Smeraldo and the hotel and staff are as good as ever. Delicious breakfast, fantastic location. Remodeling is still going on making the roof top lounge larger and adding a new elevator. They have a special Smeraldo cocktail now that is perfect to sip while you watch the sunset over Rome....

Absolutely loved Hotel Smeraldo. Check in was quick and the staff are amazing. We opted to get to the hotel on our own (they offer a driver at an added cost) and it was quick and easy to get to from Ciampino on our own. We stayed 3 nights in one of the superior rooms on the 4th floor, and...

This place is perfect. Nestled into a beautiful, quaint part of town full of shops and restaurants the Hotel Smeraldo was everything my wife and I had hoped for. The staff was incredibly welcoming, kind and helpful. The neighborhood is great. We awoke from an afternoon nap to the sounds l'italiano and a violin outside of our window. Within walking...

What a delightful hidden secret in a quiet lane in the heart of the Centro historico. We really enjoyed our week in this relaxing Hotel that makes you feel special. After a 23 hour flight from Australia we were given a quiet room on the top floor at 11am when we arrived (2pm is normal check in). We slept all...

we spent 4 nights at Hotel Smeraldo on our way to/back from the Amalfi Coast. Small rooms, clean, nice bathrooms, - and a good breakfast.(outstanding service and helpfulness by the whole staff ). Most guests were at our age (...elderly; - exploring Rome on their own..) For those visiting Rome on foot - you can't find a better location -...

Perfect location if you want to be close to Piazza Navona and Campo Fiori. Walking distance to the Vatican. The room we had was small (which I kinda expected since it's on the denser part of Rome) but it was spotless. It's also just a few steps away from Roscioli's. A big plus. The staff who served us breakfast were...
