My mother and I stayed here for 4 nights of our trip then returned for an additional 2 nights. The hotel is in the perfect location in Trastevere with lots of restaurants and shops in the heart of the city. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. There is a small breakfast every morning which helps start off the day...

This hotel is in the centre of Trastevere, a great location in a vibrant part of Rome. The area itself is a good choice if you wish to explore Rome as most of the famous sites are within walking distance or if you do not feel energetic then public transport is closely and very reasonable The hotel can be reached...

One wouldn't expect too much from a 3 star, however one would expect basic hygiene. If you decide to go to this hotel do not accept any of C1-C5 rooms. They have a window that faces a wet wall. We had room C1 that had black mold on the walks and they wouldn't move us. In addition their taxi service...

Dear guest, thank you for your suggestions, that are very appreciated, but I want to take the opportunity to clarify some important points. Unfortunately the room had a small water fault in the bathroom, that was however perfectly usable . We couldn't change the room because it was the last available, but we made a discount for the trouble ,...

My adult daughter and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The location was excellent and we were able to go wherever we chose on foot. (We are walkers!) The nearby squares were interesting and full of restaurants. We found a huge park nearby with incredible views of the city. There is a supermarket nearby where we found interesting...

My husband and I travelled to Rome for a short break and had no idea which district to stay in. After speaking to a colleague at work we opted to stay in Trastevere and we were not disappointed. Location is great and has fantastic restaurants and cafes. The Hotel Trastevere is great value. The check in was simple and the...

Stayed here in September with my family. Great location close to all the sights of Rome and in a nice non-tourist filled area full of good restaurants and cafes. Our room was a good size with king bed, baby cot (on request) with independent split system A/V that worked well and a refurbished bathroom. Free WiFi is provided and there...

For the price, you can't beat Hotel Trastevere. The service from the management was friendly from the moment of check in and was later helpful with restaurant recommendations and requesting taxis. The rooms are simple yet adequate and clean, and the bathrooms seem to have been recently remodeled as they were in perfect condition. For our family of four there...

For the price, this is definitely a great hotel and I would stay here again. Even though you are a short tram or bus ride away from the heart of Rome, Trastevere is an area that has its own merits. Great quaint restaurants, an inviting street market, and a church that you cannot miss. So if you are in town...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
