I spent my 1st 3 days in Rome at a different location and wished I had spent the entire time at Hotel San Carlo. It is in a great location...close to the Spanish Steps (and Metro Stop) and close to the Fashion District. You may cannot afford to purchase these items but the joy of window shopping abounds! The close...

2 mins walk from Spagna metro. we stayed in the annex, which is 20 steps away from main building. Our room was in a traditional building, 3rd floor, clean, spacious room, overlooking narrow thoroughfare, used by very local traffic, during the day, but by restaurant tables at night. Breakfast, simple tasty continental ,great coffee. hotel in easy walking distance of...

This hotel was chosen for me, but I was happy with my stay. Its location is perfect for visiting the center of Rome: near the Spanish steps (and the Metro stop of the same name), and within walking distance of most of the sights in the area. I was assigned to a room on the first floor of the hotel's...

The location of the hotel is perfect for any woman traveling on her own. It is within walking distance to all the major attractions in the historical centre. The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and go the extra mile to ensure your stay in Rome is memorable. The hotel serves a decent continental breakfast in a pretty Roof...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room number 12 was small by USA standards but had a very large, very comfortable king bed and a modern, good sized, bathroom. Our room overlooked the narrow street below with several very good restaurants just before our room. Breakfast was very good! I recommend the strawberry croissants - best ever. Breakfast...

This is the best hotel in Rome as far as I am concerned. The staff and location are perfect. Alberto, the manager cannot do enough for you. Victoria is a gem who will do anything she can to make your stay perfect. Rosanna, the woman who is at the front desk in the evening is so friendly and welcoming. Dante,...

I stayed for a saturday night in the Hotel San Carlo. The room was small and basic, but clean and comfortable. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful, but the real star quality of this hotel is its location. It's just minutes from the Spanish steps (and the metro), so you can use it as a base.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina.
