Fairly modern place, great wifi. The best parts are the organised tours and the Yellow Bar across the road. Pretty good location if you want to walk to the main sites in Rome (Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Pantheon etc.). Had a small safe in the room for valuables and a big cage under the bunks for your bags. Standard metal bunk...

The private twin bed rooms that my wife and I were allotted was located in a condominium across the road from the 'Yellow'. It looked like a large apartment that had been divided into three separate private rooms. It was not really an enjoyable stay and we endured it as the bookings were done before we arrived. I ll list...

The Yellow was a real surprise. While I was looking just for a place to stay in Rome in a good location, my few days at the Yellow Hotel were quite memorable. The staff was really friendly and the location is just perfect. But the room, really modern, and the shower (oh the shower) were the cherry top after whole...

Hey Daniel, So happy to hear you had a memorable experience at The Yellow! Comfy rooms, helpful staff, close to public transport and main sites, and yes, comfy beds to have a rest after a long day walking or simply after a terrible hangover! We hope to see you here again! All the best Emanuele

I liked the fact that the hostel has a bar of its own. At night it gets pretty crowded which is quite cool. I didn't really like the bedroom, it was very old school, the shower was clogging all the time as well. Location was ok, a bit creepy late at night since it's near the main train station. I...

I stayed about 4 nights in this place and would say even though the hostel in itself is not that great, the bar is a great place to hangout at night. The staff is also quite friendly at the reception, but elsewhere it was not that great.

Small, quite, clean and spacious, I know I contradicted myself but it is perfect. Value cannot be beaten, staff is friendly and the location is really great. I would recommend if you just need a place to sleep and keep your bags safe. Pizza shop nearby and small grocery store as well.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
