Booked thru Thomas cook this is 2 star at best. Hotel basic but was advised by locals not to go out at night. Gangs on every corner eyeing us up. Asked tc to move us but rep who called abandoned us as they did not help us find another hotel as promised. We had to pay £400 extra to move... More

Near a busy road and could hear loud traffic all night long. It became extremely hot during the night to the point that i couldnt breathe, had to choose between not beeing... More

Perfect location, close to central train & metro station. Ideal for short stay - rooms clean & functional , no frills. Breakfast included which was adequate with tea/coffee/croissants/toast/cheese & cold meats. Staff very helpful, particularly Alexandra who went out of his way to assist us with printing Boarding Passes. He was exceptional. All other staff were helpful & accomodating. Wifi... More

First of all the location is perfect! It's a 2 minute walk from the termini, which is the main train and metro station which gives easy access to the city. Tge rooms are basic but clean, there are no facilities apart from the basic room, tge only WiFi is in the hotel reception, if you want a luxury hotel then... More

This was a nice clean hotel. It's near the train terminal so getting around was very simple with the trains, bus and metro. Room was clean, quaint and functional. Staff where very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but enough to start your day and the coffee was excellent 😄

Hotel Gabriella was a bit of a disappointment. The building is shared by two other hotels and is not in a particularly nice area, although it is near to the station. Inside the lobby of the hotel there is a welcome mat with two stars, which is more accurate than the three which are above the door. The service was... More

All in all the hotel was OK! The room we had (Nr.4) was a little disappointing. Couldn't open the window because it smelled like sh.. in the backyard. The mattress wasn't really comfortable and we haven't had hot water at all. The room was clean and the staff friendly. Free WIFI was also available. The location is perfect 4 a... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
