Friendly staff talking english well. Close to railway, subway and places to visit. Nice breakfast with enough choice. Super clean and modern equiped rooms. Can't think of any possible negative comment. If we go back to Rome, this will again be our home. Geert & Isabelle , Belgium

Stayed at this hotel on a recent 4 night stay in Rome and it was fantastic. Rooms although on the smaller side are modern and very clean. Free tea and coffee making facilities were in the room which is always a bonus and we were given two complimentary bottles of water on arrival which was handy. Beds were very Comfortable...

I stayed at the smooth hotel Rome termini last month & really loved it ! First of all, the area is really safe & the hotel is just across the street from the British embassy so don't fear walking alone any time of the day. It's a walking distance from Termini station , piazza della repubblica & other places. Rooms...

I know this is a 3 star establishment, but I was expecting more given previous reviews. Rooms face the road on 2 sides. The road is loud. The air-conditioning helps to down it out. The hotel is near a hospital so you hear constant ambulance sirens. All doors to rooms face the central stairwell & lift. The central stairwell is...

This was a two night stopover. After traveling from Perth WA on our way to Positano we thought a rest and recovery would be warranted. Certainly impressed by the friendly helpful staff and clean and well appointed room. Friends stayed down the road with no tea making facilities if your looking for bath sheets and slippers this is not the...

We visited Rome for 3 nights this week and stayed at Smooth hotel! From arrival to departure the staff were polite and friendly, very knowledge of the area and attractions and provided us with a free city map, explaining what was best to visit and best ways to travel! The room was fairly small but more than adequate, immaculate and...

Stayed here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. I am very pleased with their accommodation and services. Location is perfect ! 10 mins walk from Roma Termini. There is a bus stop right in front to get to the city. 10 mins walking distance to subway metro. Very quiet, clean and neat place. Breakfast is great, exceeds our expectations. Staff are...

Perfect hotel for a city break in Rome. Upon arrival staff were polite and welcoming. The check in process was smooth and quick. Receptionist gave us a map and then took a few minutes explaining where we were and where all the major tourist sites were. The room was clean and comfortable. As a brit abroad always a bonus there...

This is a fantastic hotel for the price. Clean, modern, large room, tea and coffee facilities in the room, mini fridge with two small complimentary bottles of water, You then have to pay for more but we picked up 2 large bottles from the shop around the corner for €2 and put them in the fridge. The only very small...

A very "smooth" hotel with great staff and a tasty breakfast. The location is good with walking distance to most of the must see in Rome. It also walking distance from the Central station. The only small complaint is the beds, which are somewhat hard, but still ok

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
