Booked through Hotwire and were pleasantly surprised to get a three star experience at what Hotwire deemed one star : - This hotel is located on the second floor of a residential building - Both the room and the bathroom were a decent size, clean and well maintained. - Rooms are air conditioned which was definitely a big plus given... We were very happy with our stay here and actually pleasantly suprised. We booked last minute through booking.com and it was within our price range. The place looks newly renovated, the bathroom is very modern. Excellent price for central Rome, metro station 2-4 minute walk away, only one stop away from the main metro station Termini. Or you can walk... More

The hotel is located two blocks away from the Termini and in front of a Metro station, a nice location to see Rome on foot. The staff was friendly, but our room was way too dirty - there was dust over the furniture and the TV. Also, they didn't offer any double beds, only single beds (and when I asked... More

In the beginning, the entrance looks weird, but don't stop! Ring the bell and go upstairs. A nice room waits for you. The hotel is located quite close (you can walk) to Colosseum and Termini Station Rooms are nice and clean, with private bathroom. The elevator is slow...so better use the stairs.

I stumbled across this really nice hotel called Rome Love. It is marked as a 1star on booking sites. Usually I wouldn't even consider by that star rating yet we were looking for 3 single beds in a convenient location. Trip Advisor reviews were good so I figured we would give it a try. We couldn't go wrong here. I... More

Very central, colleseoum 20 min walk, the subway is right outside. 10 minute walk from termini station. The hotel is spread over two floors amongst residential apartments above shops around a square, bit hard to find initially, staff very friendly. Our room was spacious with a fridge and safe, beds were a bit hard but that's personal taste I guess.... More

The hotel was suitable for what we wanted. You get a safe and a fridge, TVs in Italian although says it have satellite...I always assume English speaking ones when mentioning satellite. The hotel itself was hard to find but keep circling the park out side and look at the walls between the shops. The hotel itself is across two floors... More

Arriving at night the place is hard to find and in what appears to be a rough area. There is no fancy signs, Lobby or reception area to spot just a pair of heavy. Wooden doors The hotel is on the second and third floor of an old I guess apartment building above shops. The rooms are small but clean... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
