We have just spent three nights at the Virgilio. This was our first time in Rome. Very quiet street but so close to everything- we spent a few hours walking around the first evening & saw the Trevi fountain,Colosseum ,the Forum & walked all along the main street ,Via Nationale without it seeming any effort at all. Also felt very safe...

We stayed here at the end of November for two nights. I feel some comments posted here are a little unfair. Our room had recently been refurbished in a pleasant modern/classic style, the bathroom was small but again tastefully tiled. As we were short on time the concierge booked us on a guided tour for the afternoon of our arrival...

Having read previous reviews after I had booked this hotel, I was a little concerned being a lone female traveler on a first trip to Rome. I was pleased, however, to find the desk staff extremely helpful and welcoming, even sorting out my planned tours for me. The hotel was well located and a great santuary after the miles of...

We have just stayed 3 nights at the Virgilio. It was in a very convenient location - easy walking distance from the main bus/train station, close to the Via Nazionale for buses (if you want them) and not too far to walk to all major attractions. We walked everywhere - very enjoyable. The hotel was exceptionally clean, well decorated and...

I read some good reviews of this hotel which is why I picked it, but we were bitterly disappointed. The service was brash (to be expected in Rome) the air-conditioning made an irritating noise all night, the hot water was luke warm every morning. Despite complaints, nothing was done. we were told to take a shower at another time!! And...

As all the others have said, great location for the money (175 euros on Saturday, around 110 other nights). But also as others have said you can expect double booking and no refund. We arrived on a Saturday night and Andrea gave us a story about someone in the hospital who was unable to check out. They sent us to...

Just come back from this hotel stayed 4 nights 17th sept to 20th sept 2005. Its a very good location on a quiet street which runs parallel to via nazionali. Our one and only problem was when we checked in (very late on the morning of the 18th). Picked up the keys and given a room on the first floor....

We stayed for 3 nights at the Virgilio and were very happy with our choice. The room and the bathroom were relatively basic but clean and everything worked. The hotel was quiet, which was great, and whilst not entirely centrally situated, was within easy reach of everything we wanted to see. My only real gripe would be that the breakfast...

This hotel was a pleasant surprise for my husband and I who had been told many horror stories about what to expect for our money in Rome. The Virgilio was spacious, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The location is great, 15 minutes walk from the Trevi Fountain and 5 mins from Via Venetto. The staff were extremely helpful and the...

We stayed here for 4 nights in May 2005 and found this a very clean and quiet hotel with friendly staff. The hotel is located on a quiet street just off the busy Via Nazionale and is in easy walking distance of many of the attractions in Rome, especially the Piazza Venezia, the Colosseum and the Santa Maria Maggiore. The...
