I stayed at Amaranto Romano for 3 nights last week. It was a perfect location to access on foot from Termini Station and also within walking distance of many sights. The bus system worked well with the No 40 passing by outside, linking with all the areas between the hotel and the Vatican area. For the metro, Republic Station was... More

Amaranto Romano is located on the 5th floor of a lovely building in a great location. (Yes, there is an elevator!) Alessandra and her staff were so helpful and hospitable! The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-furnished with good wifi. My husband and I walked to most of the major sites of Rome, and for others, the metro is... More

Wife and I stayed at AmarantoRomano and it surpassed our expectations in regards to cleanliness & comfort. Also from the moment we checked in Alessandra treated us warmly and most important for us her face to face interaction. We felt "local" right away. Alessandra and staff, next time we return to Rome your place is our first option, located within... More

It was a nice and pleasant stay at the Amaranto Romano: a comfortable and friendly atmosphere during the entire time there - a good starting point for activities in and around Rome. I received helpful tips/hints and support for all circumstances: attractive routes through the Monti district, useful traffic/transport connections, worthwhile attractions - open ears for all concerns ... Location: The hotel is 7 to 15 minutes walk to "Roma Termini - train, bus and metro station" and is very centrally located giving a good choice of restaurants to choose from for dinner. It is on the main road yet it is not noisy in night and sleeps were good. This is probably because it is on 5th floor... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
