Very difficult to find the place as we were given two different addresses. There is more than one Chroma in Roma! It was clean but nothing special and we had to pay for breakfast. I'd stay in a more conventional hotel next time. The coloured lights in the bathroom are just tacky and so is the decor. Trying to be...

Good location, close to the termini. Clean room with usual amenities. Staff only available on checking in and for short periods throughout the day. Unfortunately on arrival we struggled in our communication. I don't speak Italian and the receptionist didn't speak English (Google translate helped out but some funny looks from the receptionist so Im guessing we had some errors...

We only stayed here for one night, but wish it could have been longer! Very friendly greeting from Lovely, great room, very comfortable and clean. Bit of a trek to and from the station with suitcases on a very hot day, but great air con soon helped. Lovely little hotel with only 6 rooms, would definitely stay here again

I spent two nights at this hotel for business. The B&B has a good quality-price ratio. However, no reception and breakfast starts at 8. If you are there for leisure it is ok, but I had to take breakfast outside because I needed to be out by 7.30 for business. Choice of furniture and details (e.g. chromotherapy lights in the...

I had an overnight layover in FCO Rome and decided to stay here. I'm glad I did! On the outside, it's an old building. Even the elevator is the classic "cage type" design which I didn't use. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor. I could not work out which doorbell/intercom button to press when I arrived; probably because...

Our family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms in this location in July 2015. It's a tiny place - like 5-6 rooms, on the 3rd floor of a town house close to the Terminii, Somewhat tricky to find (look closely for the Chroma Terrera plaque on the door), and the check-in was quite funny (our host fluent in Italian, and...

Make sure you call ahead of time. There is no reception! The room was booked by my travel agency so I was not aware of this until I arrived and had trouble even finding the place. It's ony 10 mins walk from the station and very close to the university and hospital. Sitting outside waiting for the owner to turn...

Location is great, just a few minutes walking distance from Termini but in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood. Rooms are lovely, comfortable, equipped with everything one needs for a pleasant stay (TV, mini fridge, cups, glasses, water boiling machine, large mirror, clean towels) and cleaned on a daily basis. The staff were very nice and helpfull and the price...

I recently stayed at the Chroma Tessera B&B in Rome, Italy. This was my fifth trip to Rome and I've always stayed at a B&B. The Chroma Tessera is by far the best place I've been at. The room was clean, renovated, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was great. This may be true...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
