Overall a good experience. The hotel is clean, rooms are of the right size. Location is super central and walking distance from almost every attraction. The staff at the restaurant during breakfast super friendly and nice, while those at the reception so so. Would stay again for the central location and super nice terrace!
Our room's A/C did not work (in the middle of a heat wave) and somehow the rock hard mattress was slightly tilted. I only managed to get 3 hours of broken sleep. The front desk staff and managers were rude about it. The next night they moved us to a room with a broken TV and flickering ceiling light (which they never bothered to fix). The furniture in both rooms was scratched and dented. Incidentally, we got a couple cocktails from their bar but when we tried to pay they insisted we pay when we checked out. Normally, not a big deal, but considering everything they put us through, they should have at least apologized and given us the drinks on the house. Easily the worst experience I've paid for at a hotel. Don't be fooled by the pretty lobby and central location. Avoid Colonna "Palace" Hotel at all costs. It's only a 4-Star Hotel on paper.…
The location is perfect, a few minutes walk to trivi fountain and to panthione and most popular areas, The Rooftop in the breakfast is adorable, The furniture is too old, The breakfast is very poor , The hotel is very expensive I will not stay again in this hotel
a solid 3 star hotel, if they ever updated everything it would be a 4 star. Staff was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. My room on the 1st floor was a nice size. My only major compliant was they would not turn on the AC in May. Temperature in the low 80's while there. Luckily the room did not get direct sun and was OK. Slept with the window open, not too much street noise.
We were happy with the room that was offered. Everything about the Hotel that we read and learnt about was in fact the way we expected it to be. Its not the best Hotel in Rome by a long shot, but comfortable for what we needed. Close to everything. Staff were friendly & helpful. we would stay there again.
Loved the hotel, it’s in the middle of all action, very clean and big rooms . Modest breakfast but gorgeous terrace to have the breakfast Great and friendly stuff Sara was lovely, professional and very helpful. Always smiling in a good mood Ettore the reception manager just a sweet gentleman , very kind and professional These two made everything possible for us And we WILL come back🥰
Colonna Palace claims to be a 4 Star property - yet it did not live up to that promise in my view. That is the primary reason for the poor rating. Price was far too high for the value offered. Bad Odors in the hallways. Poor housekeeping staff. Rooms need some updating - very old and it shows. Wifi is AWFUL - it went dead often and was slow the entire time. Cannot use the AC to cool the room down, as it was late April and the system was not turned on yet. Placed on the 1st floor and the street noise is VERY loud and the windows do not keep it out. On a positive note - the staff working the restaurant for breakfast and front desk were all very pleasant - though not able to sole our issues.
Great location & friendly staff. This hotel had good sized rooms and bathroom. The mattresses are a little hard but the rooftop terrace makes up for that. The hotel offers a great breakfast on the rooftop terrace that overlooks the city and is a beautiful way to start your day. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean. We arrived late morning and our room was available and they let us check in early with no problem. Great location - extremely close to the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. We would stay there again!
We spent 5 nights at the hotel in December and we warmly recommend it. Hotel has very good central location. We had nice room with view to the square and clean bathroom with bath top. Every day was clean nicely. You can enjoy breakfast on terasse.
Great location but poor service. We had to change rooms 3 times during a 3-night stay. We had booked a room with twin beds and a city view. We got a room in the corner of the building. The room was on the first floor and the twin beds were a dbl. bed. If you travel with a friend, you would like two separate beds.
