We stayed here in March '07 for the Wales v Italy rugby international. Fabuous hotel in a great location in Rome - we walked everywhere. All the 'main sites' are within a reasonable walking distance if your relatively fit, and if you'd rather take the bus i would highly recommend one of the hop-on-hop-off tour buses that go from just...

Seven of us were here for 5 nights in April '07. I was somewhat sceptical since I usually like to stay in the historic center but since we planned to see the Vatican Museum and because of the high ratings on Tripadvisor (and we got a good deal through Expedia) we stayed at the Dei Consoli. Glad we did. Wonderful...

Me and my daughters booked 2 Rooms for our week long stay in Rome to meet one of my old friends there. The Hotel location is great, walking distance to Vatican and most of Old Rome sites. Even though the rooms are small but they are clean and well maintaned. The staff nice and helpful. The Breakfast buffet is fresh...

My fiance and I have just returned from a three day stay at the Dei Consoli. The hotel is cute and quaint and has wonderful service. It was so difficult to return home after our stay here, since the Dei Consoli is located just minutes away from the Vatican, but located on a bussling street with great shopping and eateries....

We stayed here in February 2006 for four nights and would be hard pressed to find fault with this hotel. Whilst the rooms are small, this is fairly typical of italian hotels in general and what they lacked in size thay made up for in comfort. Whilst situated off a busy road in the heart of vatican city, the rooms...

We had a 4-night stay at Hotel dei Consoli from 28 February. The hotel is situated in a pleasant district of Rome on a busy shopping street (Via Cola di Reinzo). Although small, our room was spotlessly clean, well appointed and quiet, with good sound insulation both from the busy main road and neighbouring rooms. The members of staff were...

A late-booked stay in Rome meant hotel availability was running out fast. However, by searching and then booking via Tripadvisor we found Dei Consoli. Arriving late evening we were welcomed and accommodated swiftly and courteously. The room and facilities were very much up to scratch. Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
