The hotel was in close walking distance to alot of the attractions. Our room overlooked Villa Borghese. Hotel was in a nice quiet area, breakfast was also good. Free internet was also provided in the rooms!

This is an excellent hotel that maintains the Sofitel standards. We liked it because it was in a quite location, not on the main streets but just a short walk from the Spanish Steps. Our room was very luxurious - though not large. And this is one of the hotels that still has an evening bed turn-down service (at least...

Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese meets all the demands and needs of either a business or a leisure traveller, when visiting Rome. The first impression you get when arriving at the lobby is very pleasant. The front desk staff, acted very professionally and classy, and the lobby itself was beautifully decorated. When i got up to my room, i noticed that...

Excellent hotel and room near the top floor had a charming view across Rome to St Peter's in the distance for the standard room rate. Only hitch - finding the hotel from the subway. Barberini metro is much easier than the Spanish Steps. But most people here probably arrive by taxi anyway! Breakfast from the local cafes in the street...

We stayed on two separate occasions in May and June this year. We liked the location - a short walk to the Spanish steps and near Villa Borghese. We found it to be quiet and a bit removed from the crowds which suited us perfectly. We still managed to walk everywhere we went except for the Vatican. The rooms were...

I spent days searching for hotels in Rome, I chose this one #1 from the great reviews and #2 for location. It is perfectly placed, a 2 block walk from the Spanish Steps/shopping area & train, which we took to both the Vatican & Colliseum areas. On the map Rome looks so big but really you can walk everywhere from...

We chose Sofitel for our honeymoon start in Rome. We stayed for 5 nights and had a blast. The hotel is charming and the service couldn't be better. You do have to go up a hill when coming back, but it's worthy. The restaurant on too has an amazing view of Rome. Highly recommended for those who want to experience...

We stayed here in July 2011. Room was fantastic! View was to die for! And the rooftop bar made for one of the most wonderful sunsets we have ever experienced! Will stay here again!

This has to be one of the most comfortable hotels I have ever stayed in. Feather beds, Egyptian cotton sheets, Hermes toiletries, quiet and private room, extravagant breakfast buffet and a roof-top restaurant overlooking Rome with views that make the trip unforgettable. Service was professional and welcoming. We were sorry to leave!

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
