We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay for our first visit to Italy and first stay in Rome. All the staff were fluent in English and went out of their way to make our stay very memorable. The hotel is within walking distance to many major attractions. I don't have any negative comments and plan to go back...

We just returned from our trip to Rome and Florence. During our stay in Rome we had to split between two different hotels, the Sofitel and the Splendid Royal. We prefer the Sofitel. As mentioned by others, the rooms are smaller but nicely decorated and the bath remodeled. What makes this hotel special is the staff and their helpfullness. One...

I stayed at the hotel for a business meeting. most notable is the available and helpful staff. The rooms are typical size for Europe but very nicely decorated and exceptionally clean. The bathroom was a nice size, modern but had a few minor cosmetic issues. The breakfast buffet was nice. Great location.

We arrived at this hotel straight from the airport around 9am (overnight flight in from NYC). Of course we did not expect a room to be available to check into so early, so we left to explore the streets. When we came back around noon, a room was in fact ready for us, which was really nice given how exhausted...

We spent 4 wonderful days in Rome, very much enjoying the terrace bar and restaurant at Sofitel. The location is great, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the view from the terrace bar is great. Have already booked a new trip to the same hotel!

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
