We stayed here for 3 nights last week and had a lovely time. The reception staff were v helpful with directions etc ( though they did recommend a local restaurant called Ortega I think which was v strange, don't bother with it, there are so many other nice restaurants around) We weren't sure how far Piazza Del Popolo was from... We stayed for 3 nights last week in Duke Hotel Rome and we liked it very much. The room was clean and in August we were grateful to have a good air conditioning in the room. The location was nice in a peaceful residence area. We used the free shuttle to Piazza del Popolo only once, otherwise we walked there... More

We have just returned from "Duke Hotel" and what a wonderful hotel (Our first time to Rome and hopefully not our last what an amazing city). We booked a suite for four nights for myself my mum, daughter and friend through Last minuite.com. When we arrived the room they had allocated for ourselves was not the one we were expecting... We stayed at The Duke Hotel for 3 nights. We booked via Lastminute.com and got an amazing deal - a suite suite for 4 people (3 adults and 1 child) for just under 400 euros. When we arrived the booking was for 3 adults so only a double bed and sofa bed had been made up. Within 5 minutes of... More

The Duke is not centrally located but in a quiet location with a shuttle to Piazza Del Popolo, which was very handy as we only had a day and one night in Rome. The hotel gave you a real feel of history being an old building yet very well maintained, clean comfortable and extremely helpful staff. We had a bottle... More

This was not a bad hotel and honestly, compared to other hotels in the city it was priced reasonably well. The location is not necessarily bad... it is far from the center of Rome so you have to come to terms with the fact that you either reserve the hotel shuttle or figure out how to use public transportation or... Overall a positive experience, Rome was EXTREMELY hot in July & the hotel room was way too hot for sleep, the air con is poor in all rooms but the hotel did move our room to improve the issue. The hotel is in a quiet residential area & quite a way from the centre, the shuttle bus is excellent &... More

Satyed at Duke for 4 nights in June ... All the staff in the front desk were rude and grumpy and not helpful at all. We haven't been given correct information regarding the swimming pool that they promote in their website and all over the lobby ... when we asked the reception for more information, they told us that we... I stayed at Hotel duke for on night on a business trip. The hotel was a wonderful discovery, well maintained, tastefully decorated, clean and quite. The breakfast was also rich and excellent, above the Italian standard. The hotel is located in a high class residential area, with a lot of embassies near by, so it's not particularly interesting for the... More

The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable, but the brunch is truly extraordinary. Fresh, delicious, with lovely service. Delicious fresh meats and cheese, freshly squeezed juices, made to order cappucino's and free flowing persecco. Even though it is a bit far from the town center, they provide a shuttle all day and late into the night, and it is... More

Staying in Parioli

Neighbourhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavour of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
