Located very close to Termini. We were met by the owner when we arrived. He was very friendly and accommodating. He gave us some travel tips and some breakfast coupons that is included in our room. We stayed in the blue room even if we are only 2. The room is big enough for at least 4 people. The room...

The Guest Haus is about 5 rooms each with their own private bathroom (ours was across the hall but we were the only people that could use it) and is located really close to the Termini train station. It's not the nicest part of town and you'll want to stick to the main streets at night but it was safe...

After this experience in the Guest Haus Praetorium, there's no other place I'll stay when in Rome. The location is perfect, just a couple of blocks away from Termini (which will connect you to any place in the city) and even within walking distance from Colosseum. We stayed in a room for 4 people, perfectly cleaned everyday, and a nice...

good location - near central railway station; excellent staff - not 24/7 but if you book room they will wait you, also very friendly; excellent rooms - clean and with all staff you need; probably some problems with wifi signal in some places but its not so important for us. Finally best hostel/b&b which we already visited this summer.

I stayed there for a weekend in June with a friend of mine and it was perfect! The room is very clean with a spacious private bathroom. Room and bathroom are cleaned every day. The room is also air-conditioned. The host Emiliano is a very nice and helpful person. Location is central and very close to Termini station. There is...

I've been there in March. Emilio, the owner, waited for us until 1am. That was very nice of him. Then, the room was very clean. The location is good: 5 minutes from Termini station. The room was a bit noisy but everything was ok. Regarding the breakfast: he delivers you a ticket and you can have the breakfast in a...

Excellent location, very clean, spacious room and bathroom. I would recommend it to all people coming to Rome. I think it is a bit expensive but comparing to other accommodation in Rome it could be ok for a few days. Breakfast is tea or coffee and croissant in near by coffee shop. Our host Emiliano is cool guy really. Some...

Just get back from Rome and really enjoyed our stay in Praetorium. Lovely spacious room and bathroom (it was not en suite but across the corridor). Perfect location near Termini station in lovely street (yes a bit noisy but after you finish all day touring around Rome you would sleep like a baby anyway). it is a bit expensive compared...

Me and a few friends stayed here for four nights and it was so worth it instead of checking-in to a well-known hotel. It was fairly inexpensive split between four people and the location was lovely. Located near the Termini station in Rome, it gave easy access to the metro to get to and from places. The staff was wonderful,...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.

“The blue room (Via dei Mille side) was spacious but others may be bothered by the noise at the cafe below. The double rooms are located in front (Castro Pretorio) and more quiet at night when the windows are shut. Regardless of which part in Rome you stay, be prepared for the constant noise of sirens.”
