From the front desk to the kitchen and bar, the staff at Kolbe Hotel were excellent! As close as you can stay to the Palatine hill and the Forum. We had our 2 and a half year old with us and it was a great time. Little restaurants and a tiny market just around the block and everything is close...

Positives: The location was just on the other side of the Roman Forum, which is quite interesting. The Coloseum is close, but you have to walk around the Forum to get there. A map can be deceiving because it looks like you can cut across when you cannot. Everything was clean in our room upon arrival and every day we...

Just returned from a trip to Rome and a 4 night stay at the Kolbe. Check in was quick and easy and the staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. We took advice from the review of another traveller and emailed the hotel in advance of our trip and asked for a quiet...

This was a great hotel. I would certainly recommend staying here. Things we liked: The hotel common areas and rooms were very clean. The staff was extremely accommodating, friendly and kind. The staff was very knowledge and helpful when making recommendations on directions, sights to see, restaurants and other small facts about the city. The room was a perfect size...

Hotel rooms were clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were lovely - the power shower was great! The rooms were small, but being in Rome, you don't spend much time in there anyhow. A good 4* standard. Wifi access was 20 euros for our entire stay, which was very reasonable. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Many...

We stayed at the Kolbe for 3 nights in May. Very retro style hotel. Our room was small and the temperature in the room was difficult to control, it would be freezing cold and then hot!! The bathroom was nice, big sink, magnifying makeup mirror with lights was a nice feature, big shower, complimentary slippers in sealed clear bags. Our...

How they think that such poor service is acceptable for a hotel of this statue is beyond me! After spending a wonderful time in the gorgeous beach resort of Sperlonga, my wife and I were looking forward to spending a few days in Rome, sightseeing and enjoying the promise of the Kolbe Hotel. I have to agree that the hotel...

On arrival was amazed to discover that my pre-paid booking( made over 10 months ago) was not registered and was greeted by an arrogant and uncaring male receptionist who asked us to take a seat and wait. This turned into a farcsical hour- long wait , with no member of staff even saying hello ,eventually resulting in us being shown...

Located across from the Forum and at the foot of Palatine Hill, this hotel has clean, modern rooms, helpful staff, a lovely quiet garden and fine breakfast. Ground floor rooms backing the garden are terrific. An oasis in hectic Rome. At these prices, internet should be free.

I too chose this hotel after reading the reviews here, and with only two small exceptions, our stay was fantastic. The location is across the street from the Forum, but the actual entrance is a short walk away. Rome is a walking city, but everything you need is within a 20-30 minute walk. We used some buses, and the front...
