The hotel has a great location, rooms are very clean, breakfast is very good and continental style (cheese, salami, sweets, eggs, croissant, dognuts, tea, coffee, fresh...), personnel very nice. My room gad also a small balcony which was very much appreciated. It was a very good choice. I was there 4 days, in March 2016, with my friend. I recommend...

Small, secure newly renovated hotel in former convent. Large ensuite facilities. Near metro and some key sites. Quiet location, but near restaurants and bars. Very nice staff and reasonable breakfast. 20 minutes walk to Termini Station.

Some very bad hotels in Rome. I read hundreds of reviews of hotels and opted for this one and I am glad I did. A quick review as I am not one for writing reviews. Good points: 10 minutes walk to the Colosseum, 2 minutes to Manzoni underground, 15 minutes walk to Roma Termini station. Very very clean, in fact...

Good, clean hotel, perfect bed. Breakfast relatively extensive and complete for big cities like Rome. Close to metro, so easy to access city centre (although you reach the Colosseo in 20 min by feet. Personnel very very helpful, speaking english and always happy to help you

I arrived at the hotel early and was able to check in straight away. The reception staff were helpful and friendly throughout my stay - including assisting with directions and call cabs whenever I need help which is exactly what you need on your own in a foreign city! The room was clean and comfortable. It was not massive but...

We strongly recommend this hotel for the following reasons: The staff Is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is modest but more than enough. The location is great – it’s only a couple of minute walk from the Metro station and about 10-15 minutes’ walk to the Colosseum. There are a few very...

The very short two minute walk from Manzoni Metro station, and easy five minute tram ride from the Colosseum, make La Locanda an excellent choice for visitors to Rome. All the room facilities are first class and exceptionally comfortable, and the breakfast buffet substantial and generous. The only downside is a very inconsistent wi-fi service in the rooms, and the...

My partner and I booked into this hotel last minute because the BnB we had previously booked was terrible. Because of our last minute booking we paid a premium price, but the room was clean and comfortable and the location was ideal for connecting to the metro and Rome Termini station. It is also a short walk to the Colosseum....

The best with this hotell is the location. Just take the Subway when you arrive to centralstation in Rom. Get off at Manzoni and you are a few steps from the hotell. Close to Colloseum and good restaurants. Its a simple hotell but feels fresh and the staff is really friendly and helpfull.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
