We enjoyed 3 nights at this hotel. The location is excellent for many tourist sites and good eating choices. Our room was very nice. It is on a side street and not a lot of noise or congestion. We loved a restaurant Francescana, about 2 blocks away.

Stayed here in Jan 06. Very good value hotel. I'd reccommend it to couples or anyone who'd like to stay within walking distance of the Vatican and the city centre. Not an especially touristy area, though nice all the same. Nice cafe's around - one top notch little chocolatier/coffee shop nearby. Nice clean rooms, showers are tiny though.

On the basis of previous reviews we chose the Hotel Sant Angelo and were not disappointed. Rooms clean, staff very helpful and friendly, great location. We were able to walk to all the attractions and found plenty of reasonably priced restuarants. We walked through all the streets in the late evening and never felt threatened. We were celebrating my 60th... More

The only good things about this horrible hotel are its location and friendly staff who deserve to work in a better establishment. The room I was given (for $150) was allegedly a Standard Double. It was tiny, poky, had no airconditioning. The tiles on the raised floor around the bed were badly chipped. The shower-bathroom (extremely outdated) had a broken... More

We stayed in Hotel Sant'Angelo for five nights in october 2005. Great location, very friendly staff, but the rooms .... beds and especially pillows were very hard, and altough the hotel is in a relatively quiet sidestreet there was still quite a bit of noise outside (the grabage collector came round at 1:30 a.m. ...). The use of the shower... More

I stayed at this hotel with my partner for 3 nights in October. The location was great - on the Vatican side of the river - only 15 minutes walk to both the Vatican and Spanish Steps. The room was clean and hotel staff friendly. There was plenty of breakfast as you could eat as much as you liked. The... More

Arriving in Rome after a 24 hour plane ride from Australia, being a woman travelling alone, it was refreshing to be greeted so warmly by the family that run the hotel. Although located in quite a dark street and not being very well signed, having just a doorway as an entrance, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the... More

I stayed in this hotel at the end of June 2005. This was my first trip to Rome and it was a great place to see. I was here for three nights and we were just looking for somewhere to use as a base for our sightseeing. Originally I'd been looking at hotels in the traditional centre. However, from home... More

I stayed at Hotel Sant'Angelo with my partner in mid-June. I was rather dubious about the hotel as some of the reviews suggested it was run-down. However, on arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, quaint room. Even though it was small, is was comfortable and there was absolutely no noise on an evening. The staff were very... Stayed at the Sant`Angelo for three nights in May 05. Ideal location for Vatican City (leave the hotel by 7.30am to avoid the masses) and many of the Rome sites. Recommend the open top bus tour to reduce the amount of walking. The room was simple with air conditioning but the bathroom must be one of the smallest we have... More

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
