We booked two rooms (one for 4 persons and the other for 2 persons). The one with 4 persons basically was a room for two with two extra beds!!! (there was no room to walk between the beds and the room was really tight). When we book a room for 4 we expect a slight bigger room than the room...

We stayed at this hotel last month and had an excellent experience. As other mentioned, the location was fabulous - we walked everywhere. The staff was extremely helpful, and the room was clean and quiet. We were able to open the window without noise problems, which was fortunate, since the room was quite warm. Breakfast was very good. The only...

We stayed at the Hotel Cortina in July, 2011. Our stay was amazing. The hotel was in a great location, central to many attractions. The rooms were lovely as well. The only two things we would like to see improved : 1) Breakfast selections could be increased a bit; 2) It would be nice if a cafe was available for...

It was the cheapest hotel I could find that was (sort of) central to everything. The staff were a bit over zealous with the cleaning of the room (I put up the Do Not Disturb sign and they still cleaned the room). But it is a cute little place, basic but homely.

Stayed in 'Apartment A' which is just around the corner from the main hotel. The location is in central Rome off Via Nazionale, fairly close to Termini and just down from Piazza Repubblica with its Metro. Its within walking distance (20-30min) of the historical centre and main attractions or you can catch the bus 100m or so away. The apartment...

My wife and I stayed for one night, we found it an easy 15 minute walking distance from the termini train station and also close to a metro stop. The rooms were average compared to others we stayed at during our tour of Italy and due to a early morning tour did not get to try the breakfast

The hotel is located on the 2nd floor of a building which is on one of the main drags in Rome. It is in a very good location, within walking distance of most sites and very close to the train station. Since our room was on the inside, there was no noise. The room was clean but not very big....

We have only good things to say about our stay here. Very clean, good size room, big bed. Quiet. Comfortable. Air-con. Buffet breakfast had good selection and plenty of it. Staff so friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome. Angelo encouraged our pitiful attempts at speaking Italian! Good location, we walked everywhere, even to the Vatican which took us...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
