We had a lovely three nights at Hotel Cortina. The staff was wonderful - friendly and helpful. The location is great - close to the train station and walking distance to everywhere but the Vatican (but metro train stop is on the corner and we actually did end up meandering back) The breakfast was nice - very attentive and about...

We stayed at the Hotel Cortina in Apt. A for three nights. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and the perfect accommodation for our family of five. Mr. Milano and his staff were most gracious and helpful. We appreciated the internet access, breakfast in the morning, and the espresso maker in the kitchen. The bathrooms are modern and were stocked with...

I recently stayed at the Hotel Cortina for 7 nights and it was a very positive experience. The room was very pretty. On the negative, the tub leaked but they knew this and an absorbent towel did the job. A bit of a weak flush to the toilet, though. Room very, very clean. We had a room on an outside...

Had a great time in Rome, largely due to this lovely little hotel. The staff were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The men on reception were always happy to answer any questions (and we had a lot) and recommend places to see and eat. We were given a large, clean room with a spacious bathroom and although...

After choosing a really bad Rome hotel on the recommendation an acquaintance I found myself needing to find a new hotel. We found The Hotel Cortina purely by accident and could not have been more please. In Rome, many of the hotels suffer from poor lighting, uncomfortable beds and very small rooms. The Cortina is possibly the most comfortable hotel...

We three persons stayed at Apartment B for 5 nights in February to March. The apartment is very clean and comfortable (e.g enough space, hot shower, nice beds, espresso machine). It's close to Termini station & bus stop and is very convenient to visit almost famous place. We could also had a fresh new day with nice cappuccino, fresh cheese,...

The hotel is near Termini station and metro stops. Being on the main street it is also safe for single travelers to arrive late. The room was very clean and elegant. The staff was wonderful and very helpful and I will return there definitely for my next Roman holiday. Just great!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
