There is one word that describes out stay, the hotel and the service - it is the word EXCELLENT! We stayed in Apartment B. When we arrived we had to check in at the hotel - the hotel is difficult to see easily because it is on the second floor of a building with other businesses - it is literally...

We spent 3 nights here. Great location especially if you're doing lots of sight seeing. There's a good trail of all the big touristy spots that all lead back to the hotel. There's a city sightseeing tour bus stop nearby too. The staff were absolutely second to none. Gianni at reception really made our holiday. Such a genuinely lovely man....

The service and friendliness are first rate. The rooms where we initially stayed and the apartments we have stayed in latterly are very well equipped and well looked after and very clean. For position, the hotel is excellent and is in walking distance of the main sites.

This hotel is walking distance to most major attractions, restaurants, shops and public transportation. It is a small hotel but very big in service. The room is clean, quiet and spacious enough for a family of 3 (ask for Room 14). Staff are polite and very attentive to our needs. Great recommendations from restaurants to shopping. And even helped with...

We stay at Apartment B which is ideal for holidaymakers who wish to cook some or all of their own meals. The apartment is spacious, immaculately clean and has all the amenities you could wish for. The location is quiet but very centrally located in Rome. Most importantly, Angelo and his team always go well beyond good service when looking...

Again visiting Rome, This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and I can confirm the best option I take in my entire trip to Europe, was to stay in the apartments they offer at the Hotel Cortina. We decided to stay in the small apt. around the corner form the hotel, really fabulous, has all the...

The Hotel Cortina staff greeted us with the warmest of welcomes. They were fantastic helping with directions and train timetables. The location was close to all attraction, around a 10min walk and even closer to the train station. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms very clean. There was also a good range of food for breakfast. Overall this Hotel...

The Hotel Cortina is in a wonderful location close to the metro and Rome bus service and walking distance to most major attractions. The apartment itself was excellent and clean with the staff going the extra mile to assist us in any way. I would definitely recommend this place to families traveling with children.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
