Quite a big. old 1800's hotel, in need of some updating in places but generally quite efficient with pleasant staff and a reasonable breakfast. Convenient for the Metro stop and Termini station, and possible to walk to Trevi fountain etc in about 20 minutes. The only problem was the noise. Despite asking for a quiet room (we overlooked the garden...

We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the courtyard which was large and very pleasant. The hotel itself is well located near to a Metro and not far from the central station which is where airport coaches terminate. The hotel retains some of its old world grandeur and everything we saw was in good condition. Breakfast is of...

Hotel is very attractive, good sized rooms and very nice bathroom. Lobby is very nice although the lobby bar is a little small. Everything was very nice, except I asked for a wakeup call for a very early flight on my last day but the hotel does not have an automated wake up system and relies on slips of paper...

We stayed at Hotel Quirinale 12 years ago and it was lovely to come back with our grown-up daughters this time. The hotel is brilliantly situated and everything can be reached by foot. As a guest you are brought back to former times when hotels were elaborate, golden, extravagant - there even is an old-fashioned elevator - and the staff...

The hotel was exactly what I expected.  Here are the things I like: Location was perfect as it is within walking distance 15-20 minutes to the major attractions like the Borghesi Garden, Spanish Steps etc. Transportation: walking to the train station Stazione Terminali took only 5 minutes. Saves having to take a cab.  Also it is close to the Metro...

we was there for 7 Days and had a good time in Rome. We were satisfied with everything. The only criticism or improvement is the breakfast and the design of the offered products. Often many things were missing or it took too long until something was delivered. Overall the breakfast is unfortunately not a 4 star hotel worthy. At the...

Booked for a special birthday for my wife. I asked the hotel beforehand that I would be grateful if it would recognise this in some way. It didn't. We arrived at about 1pm and were told that our room wasn't ready because check in was 2.30pm. I explained that my wife was ill and was told that the rest rooms...

We arrived early for our room but this gave us time to enjoy a drink and a snack in their beautiful garden. Our room was on the first floor overlooking a wall and when I asked to be changed there was no hesitation. I was quickly shown another room on the fourth floor to which we rode a beautiful antic...

The front desk was a mixed bag: the woman who checked us in and out was curt but the man who arranged our car to the airport was extremely helpful. This hotel is in a grand building and our room had high ceilings, interesting old furniture, and an enormous, clean bathroom. Unfortunately, although I requested a quiet room, it had...

Location of the Quirinale Hotel is very good. We were able to walk to all the areas we wanted to see: from the Vatican to the Forum Romanum and Colloseum, from the Trevi fountain to the Spanish Stairs and many others. Beautiful city.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
