I really wanted to give this hotel more stars. Would I stay here again? Yes probably if there was a good deal, but I was a bit disappointed because of the amount of 5 star reviews and the fact that it was Number 2 on TripAdvisor. Maybe I had high expectations, I do not know. The rooms were more spacious than expected, I loved that the Triple Deluxe did not share a wall with any other room. Felt like we had a private wing. Check in was very nice. Porter service was also wonderful. The staff and the cleanliness really made my stay. The porters and front desk staff were always friendly and with a smile. The rooms and lobby are extremely clean. You need something extra, they have it in terms of toiletries and umbrellas. There's a cute "living room" area with a tv and computer that is always available with free printing. Check in included a welcome drink, I suggest the cappuccino over the prosecco. Barstaff were nice, the area was comfortable and clean, but they did not have a specific bar or coffee menu which made it difficult to select what I wanted at other times. I enjoyed the cappuccino, my husband did not. There was a nice bottle of wine awaiting us in the room. The minibar is fantastic, they accepted our requests for diet soda instead of regular soda. Any request you make to the staff is gladly welcomed and instantly taken care of. The breakfast is absolutely amazing and fresh. Also a very good location. Loved the bathrobes provided as well. Towels and bedding always clean and smelling fresh. Despite all of this, I gave 3 stars because of 2 reasons that I think are integral to a 4 star hotel and a hotel that is ranked so high. Firstly, as stated before, the staff are very friendly, nice to chat with, etc, but if you want any advice on where to eat or to buy something or where something is open, I do not want to be rude, but you're better off asking someone on the street or using Google. The concierge they advertise is basically nonexistent. They do not seem to have any experience in the area around the hotel and they send you to touristic places they searched on Google as well as any shopping nearby. This is quite disappointing. Again, Ivan, Debra, Valentina, Davide, Adi, and all the other porters were extremely friendly and welcoming and I loved their welcoming and great attitude when I entered the hotel, but any request involving something outside of the hotel, and the answers were not that satisfactory, I feel they could use more training on that or provide their real favorite nearby sites and restaurants that are not entirely tourist traps or found on Google, many visitors like to go off the beaten path. Again every request you have is attended to quickly and like you are the number one priority, but the "concierge" aspect is extremely lacking. A basic thing that you should have when you stay at a hotel is a warm shower. A 4 star hotel should not have an issue with being able to provide something so basic. First, the shower was the cleanest out of any other hotel I stayed at as well as the rest of the bathroom and everything was well taken care of, but I do suggest leaving more toilet paper for guests. The issue is that the shower did not keep a consistent temperature nor pressure. Also the provided soaps and shampoos were not really that good. My husband brought up the issue with the shower and first we were told it would get looked at. Later on in the day, I was told it was looked at and there were no issues or that it was "fixed". Sadly nothing was fixed or corrected. In fact we were kind of told not to shower at "off peak" times as the system might be resetting and that's why there is poor pressure, whatever that means. We were offered a Junior Suite for our last two nights because of this issue which was a very nice gesture, however I was much more comfortable in the Triple Deluxe than the Junior Suite. There is not much different amenities and the Junior Suite had one less sink in the bathroom and maybe there was another closet or 2 which was not important to us and another tv, again we do not use on vacation. The porters moved all of our belongings perfectly to the new room. Unfortunately, the shower in this room on another floor still was not up to par, maybe even worse. It was our last day so there was not much for staff to do. The manager and maintenance took another look, but it did not seem like there was much urgency or priority about it. All in all, the hotel is a step above in amenities, cleanliness, and hospitality, but it lacks 2 basics that are expected, a good shower and a knowledgeable concierge.

Dear Eric B and Hongi86, We take this opportunity to provide a single answer that engages with feedback from both of you since you were together. We remember you with great pleasure, which is why we are committed to providing you with an exhaustive worthy response. It is always gratifying when our guests consider us as a valid and convenient alternative to 5-star hotels, which validates our philosophy of hospitality indeed. We confirm, therefore, that Hotel Artemide is a full-service 4-star boutique hotel that does not offer a concierge desk. A concierge service, however, is always available at the Reception where our staff is happy and willing to accommodate every request from our guests, generally with great success and appreciation. At the same time, we are sorry that you and your husband did not have the great experience you expected. Unfortunately, your feelings turned out to be opposite to all those guests who inspired you to choose us among the many other great options in the city. As a matter of fact, coinciding with the third day of your stay with us, we did encounter technical problems that caused momentary and sudden changes in the water pressure. An investigation was promptly put in place following the first report received from our guests, and we solved the issue within 48 hours. As a result, we have no longer received complaints from any other guest, nor have there been any comparable to your description. As you will agree and remember, the issue was already solved by the time you moved to the junior suite, as you had the opportunity to double-check with our front office manager and the technician. We realize that the scruple of coming to your room to carry out further inspections may have made you uncomfortable, but we have acted in good faith, offering the necessary support to avoid any recurrence of the problem. We can confirm that the water pressure from the additional handheld shower head was actually in the norm, however, the rain shower pressure was instead intense and comfortable as usual. We also want to clarify our complimentary toiletries as it is our pride and joy; we have established a co-branding collaboration between our Artemís spa and Acqua dell'Elba artisan perfumery. Master perfumers, in fact, who have dedicated everything to producing olfactory compositions that recall the splendid sea of the island of Elba. Hotel Artemide is immersed in these fragrances that can be enjoyed in every corner of our premises. We assure you that we are really sorry for not offering you the hospitality experience you expected. It is often minor details and misunderstandings that irreparably condition a guest's judgment of a service. Taking care of these details is our mission, and we would like to welcome you again to show our commitment without leaving you in any doubt. Arrivederci, Federico Pacini Hotel Manager

The hotel has beyond amazing reviews. So amazing that it made us choose it over more expensive and luxurious options because it was our first trip abroad in the Coronavirus era, first time in Rome and we wanted it to go as smooth as it can for our Anniversary celebration. Unfortunately the reviews were too good to be true. I'll start with the positive stuff. Great central location. The hotel looks nice and clean. Rooms are specious with good insulation and sound proofing. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast is tasty with a large selection and most is fresh. The minibar is free which is always a nice bonus. The reason I gave it 2/5 is because of just two things, but they were crucial since they're so basic. I took 1 bubble off because of the so called "Concierge". Although it's listed separately from the front desk on every website, it isn't. There aren't designated concierge staff and area. We were told we're welcomed to ask everything at the front desk, but it's quite impractical to stand there for an hour (there were a lot of things we wanted to know), not to mention the receptionists also need to take care of other guest requests and check ins/outs while being with us. What's even worse is that they weren't really knowledgeable about stuff that are more than the main touristic places and activities. They used google for a lot of things I asked about, which is something I can do myself. In one occasion I asked at about 11pm where can I buy bottles of soft drinks, and the receptionist told me to go to McDonald's although they don't sell bottles and that he knows about no other place that's open at that hour. It took me a less than a two minutes walk to find an open place with a wide variety of soda and juices. 2 bubbles off are for the showers. This was absolutely terrible. The water pressure from the handheld shower head was extremely weak. I mean EXTREMELY weak. if you put it more than 20cm from the body it won't reach you. Then the temperature of the water was changing by itself. Every minute it suddenly became cold for a few seconds, or too hot, and then back to normal. I was told one day they'll send someone to check and fix it but nothing changed (The bathrooms also had no heating, and they were big in the rooms we had). When I complained to the manager I was offered to move to the Junior suite. I emphasized to him it's not about an upgrade and that I don't care to move to the same type of room I paid for as long as the shower is fine. We moved a night after when we had 2 nights left out of the 6 we were there. The shower in the Junior suite was even worse. Flow was even weaker and more frequent changes in the temperature. I complained again to the manager so he came to the room with a technician to see for himself. He told me this is the normal pressure in all the rooms which is quite ridiculous and frankly I have no idea how come people don't complain about it constantly. I've never encountered anything close to it in all of the countries and cities I've visited. Then about the temperature, the technician said it's constant, it didn't change and it's fine. It was kind of upsetting since it happened in both rooms every time we showered, and my husband experienced it too. Made me feel like I'm lying although at that point it was hours before our check out and there was nothing for me to get from complaining anyway. The hotel takes pride of great service and staff, which is great but it can't and shouldn't come instead of such basic amenities. Maybe other visitors are so impressed by getting free breakfast and minibar and that's why they praise the place. But I can have breakfast and buy the same drink that were in the minibar anywhere else, yet It's the only place I can shower at.

The main thing you will wonder when you stay in this hotel is what the staffs are consuming - they seem happy and cheerful all the time and always delighted to help. A senior manager at their breakfast restaurant, Mr. Pasquale, and his team were ever so hospitable and cheerful…and always try to make you laugh. The breakfast is sumptuous and the cakes made by them are really good. The hotel location is very central and near all key places of interest. The room is well designed (with USB plugs), and well kept. Highly recommended.

We are just back from a 4 day honeymoon in Rome and what can I say except what a exceptional time we had in hotel artemide. The hotel is pure luxury in every way. The rooms are spotless and absolutely beautiful. The mattress is the most comfortable I've ever stayed in at a hotel. The mini bar is re stocked every day free of charge. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating in any request we had. We went to the roof top bar every evening before going out for dinner and the cocktails are the best we have ever had. They are really luxurious and you can tell its only top quality ingredients used. The only downfall that I could think of is that we did not have enough time here. We are already planning our one year anniversary back here and we will stay longer and we would like to make use of the spa the next time we are here. 5 star experience I'm every way cannot wait to come back next year Amanda & Stephen O'Leary

Great trip for our anniversary in which the hotel staff kindly updgraded us and provided us with a beautiful bottle of wine to enjoy our first night. Staff were amazing and always ready to help from the reception to the restaurant to the breakfast room it was an amazing experience and this would be the only hotel we stay in when we return. The restaurant food is also exemplary and better than some of the restaurants in the area.
