Hotel Lirico Suitably situated from the Termini, trains run directly from the airport to the Termini pretty much every 30 minutes. We got straight off the plane and onto a train, which took us about 45 minutes to the Termini and within 10 minutes (including a detour when I got us lost) we were at the hotel. We arrived at...

We stayed for a full nine nights over Christmas and had absolutely no complaints at all. Very friendly and helpful staff, a clean and well-serviced spacious room, great breakfasts (continental but all-you-can-eat buffet style, good coffee too) and centrally located. Although it is near to Termini station (where the airport buses unload) we had no sense of the area being...

We had a great time at this hotel! The staff were friendly and eager to make sure that we were comfortable. Our room was lovely and spacious with a great view over the opera house. The hotel gave us a map of Rome with the hotel marked on it which we used everyday! It is a simple 10 minute walk...

It was horrible. We booked on Expedia, and when we arrived at the hotel, it was filthy dirty, smelled of smoke in each of the 5 rooms they tried to put us in. We could hear other people through the walls as if they were in our room, and then they charged us one night's stay, despite the fact that...

Having read some of the reviews about the Hotel Lirico my comments will not come as a surprise to those reading this review. I had booked directly with the hotel through their website, which is available in several different languages. I paid 350 euros for four nights, which is actually a decent price given that hotels in Rome can easily...

The Hotel Lirico is ideal for a short break on a bit of a budget. Conveniently located to all the main tourist attractions, we walked eveywhere and it was fine, although at the end of the day sometimes I thought my feet were dropping off but hey! Reception staff are quite pleasant and are quite welcoming. On arrival, we arrived about...

We stopped here for a long weekend in September, we arrived in Rome on the underground which was easy to navigate around, from the airport was only 5 euros for 2 or us. The hotel was a little difficult to locate and when we eventually found it we were disappointed at the steep stair case to climb with baggage and...

We stayed here during the Oct school holidays. The rooms are a good size, but for a family of three a little tight on space. OK for three nights though. A few Sky channels on the TV, buy bottled water at the nearby supermarket. The room and bathroom were very clean, the beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly...

Have just returned from a two night stay in the hotel lirico in rome. The hotel is situated a short walk from the termini, and all major attractions are within walking distance. Via de vimanale is busy, but it wasnt noisy at night. That said, our room, overlooked nothing more than a building so was away from traffic but it...

The Lirico Hotel is a good Hotel in the modern centre of Rome. The location is very good. Just a stone's throw from Via Nazionale. The Termini station is also nearby. Most of the city's sights are more or less in walking distance such as the Colloseum or the spanish steps. It is a modern city Hotel. The service is...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
