We spent 7 nights in the Hotel Caprice, and it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel is situated right next to the very popular (And expensive) Via Veneto but is a fraction of the cost of a hotel on the street itself. Location wise, it's pretty central to all the tourist sites in Rome. We went everywhere on foot...

We have just arrived back from a four day city break in Rome staying at the Caprice. Wanted to arrive in Rome looking a little smart instead of the usual travelling gear but failed to do so due to the intense heat - to say I glowed would be polite. The staff on the desk were extremely helpful and showed...

Well what can you say? It really is in a good area for travelling from - Barbarini metro and bus stops nearby. But if you like walking, everywhere is accessible on foot in Rome from anywhere. This hotel is cheap, but really cheap for its location. It is possible to find better value in less touristy areas. The hotel itself...

Myself and my husband have just returned from a five night stay in Rome where we stayed in the Hotel Caprice. We booked online with hotel.com and paid just over €100 euro a night. First things first, this hotel is BASIC, if you want luxury or a lot of extras then book else where (if you don't mind paying €250...

We were at the Caprice March of 07, and the 3-day stay was enjoyable. Someone helped us with our bags right away. The desk managers were always helpful. There is even a phone that you can use - no charge for local calls to make reservations, which we did for Villa Borghese. We definetely fell in love with Rome this...

I was a bit concerned about the mixed reviews of this hotel. Americans seemed to hate it whereas the Europeans thought it was OK or great. The hotel is a good 20 minutes walk from the main station but for one Euro each you can get the metro for two stops to Barberini and then you are just three minutes...

I stayed here for 3 nights. I was searching on the internet for a long time to find a decent budget location. I paid €105 per night for 2 people in Hotel Caprice and I booked it through Otel.com. For the price I was very impressed. The room was small and decoration was dated but it was perfectly clean and...

We stayed at the Caprice Hotel in Rome, and were somewhat disappointed. The concierge was slow to help us when we arrived, and seemed to be somewhat bothered by having to deal with us for check-in, internet use, etc. The room was so small that my husband and I kept stumbling over each other. The room was clean, but again,...

Loved it - very warm and friendly service, helpful too for newcomers to Rome. The room was clean and although it overlooked the street and was quite noisy, there are worse things than listening to the sounds of Rome on a warm October night. Breakfast very good and very convenient location. We have already booked for October 2006.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.

Welcome to the Hotel Caprice "Dolce Vita Style." Try taking a step back in time and imagining yourself in the middle of a Fellini film set. This is the atmosphere you can breathe at the Hotel Caprice, located at a stone’s throw from the world-famous Via Veneto, the street where, in the 1950s, film directors, actors and other "Dolce Vita" celebrities used to be stalked by the paparazzi. Recently refurbished, this charming hotel features an intimate and refined atmosphere. A classic design in perfect bon ton style blends with the more evocative style of the Orient in a unique combination.
