We had originally booked at the Hotel Bailey just down the street, but upon arrival were informed of a room issue and relocated to this Hotel. This hotel is more modern, but not my first choice. The rooftop dining was lovely, the breakfast buffet was just OK. The showers were dangerous and flooded the bathroom with each use (a full...

My husband and I recently stayed at the hotel for three nights. The staff were helpful and courteous at all times. Room a little snug but clean and comfortable with great views of the city. Breakfast had a great selection and great views! The roof terrace was a fantastic place to sit for a pre or after dinner drink! The...

We recently stayed at this lovely Rome hotel for two days after a cruise and found it to be just the right size for a comfortable stay. We have stayed in 3 other Rome hotels located in other areas of the city but this time we chose the Marcella Hotel due to its proximity to the Villa Borghese as we...

It's been a while since we stayed here (April 2011), but we had a fantastic experience. A friend had recommended the hotel to us, since he knew the owner (Marcella), and had stayed there many times himself. Well, I'd stayed in Rome many times on my own over the past 9 years, and my experiences with hotels have ranged all...

There's nothing quite like starting your day with excellent coffee and a full selection of breakfast options on a Rome rooftop overlooking the city. The rooms are quite nice and the staff is very attentive not only to needs at the hotel but where to eat and what to do away from the hotel. They arranged transportation from the airport...

The staff were amazing - very friendly and helpful. They arranged a private car for us to get back to the airport for 50 euros which was lovely. The roof top bar is beautiful both for breakfast and in the evenings. They don't really push it but they also serve pizza and sandwiches on the roof top bar - just...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
